“This license plate was used on a car for everyday use over multiple years. It has rusting and dents on one but the matching one is in good shape. The dented more rusted one has a whole through the 1 of the 3-31-57 date imprinted on the plates. The dented plate has a whole through the A of Maryland. Please look at pictures closely.”

This is a matching pair of 1957 Maryland license plates. They expire on March 31, 1957. This set is plates was before they used stickers to renew the plates. Every year you had to get a new set of plates because of the inset of the date EXP-3-31-1957. 
The original color of the plates were white with dark green letters and numbers. The plates are more of a cream colored now from age. The green is nice and dark. There are no scratches on the numbers or letters other than Plate #1 which has dents, and holes through the 1 of 31 and a hole through the A of Maryland. Plate #1 has some white peeling away from the metal base. 
It is amazing to find a pair of matching Maryland plates with the inscribed date on them. Luckily one is in much better shape than the other. You can tell they were both used on a vehicle because you can see the marks of the screw as it was hung on the car. 
Postage will be by US Mail in a Tyvek envelope. The plates will be wrapped in the large size bubble wrap ( not the cheap small economy bubble wrap), and then taped around with 3M shipping tape, to keep them from moving around. Postage is what the post offices charge me, it does not include in of my shipping supplies cost.
