You are bidding on two (2) Missouri Base License plates. Please read what follows very carefully. These are base plates that were issued from the mid-50"s to early 60"s. They have two slots in upper middle, but – to my knowledge – only adhesive backed stickers were ever issued for these plates, not tabs requiring the use of the slots. One plate has a red sticker with the year 61 that is just about faded out, but still barely readable. It has a rip, or tear, from an upper bolt hole out to the edge of the plate. The other base plate has a red sticker with the year number completely worn off. That plate has a dent – or wrinkle – in the upper left portion of the plate. See the pictures to view the condition of the plates.
Because only one plate was required on a vehicle during this era, smaller quantities were put into circulation – thus they are a little harder to find. These plates are being offered with the thought they may have some value and use to someone even though their condition is a bit rough.
