Up for auction is a rare set of 1956 Oregon License Plates.
Many collect tags for a variety of reasons: Some are displayed on a car of the year corresponding with the license plates. Others are displayed in sports bars, restaurants, man cave, garages, antique and vintage stores. A unique idea is to frame the plate(s) and present as a gift for someone who shares the same year as their birth year, high school graduation, college graduation or a significant date. Many collectors such as myself display one from each state. Mine are displayed as a border around garage. I also have a framed tag of the year and the state and even the numerals of my birthdate (very lucky to find that one).
