Panal 1944-45 Canal Zone license plate Issued to workers in the Canal Zone, living in Panama. Hence the Z prefix. Early Panama / Canal Zone plates are not easy to find. Admittedly rough. Will need careful sanding down and refinishing to bring back to its former glory. Metal appears solid enough to do this, though the steel is fairly thin gauge. The original colors were Maroon on turquoise.
