You are bidding a pristine, unused, and I suspect unissued 1948 Montana License Plate in the original Automobile License Plate envelope from the County Treasurer…Plate number is 5-6540 which is fromLewis and Clark County, Montana (County Seat is Helena, Montana). Front of the envelope also bears the license plate number. I suspect this is a rare find….the first old plate I’ve seen with the original envelope that was used for mailing the plate to the registered owner, but then again, I’m not a collector! Whether you’re a collector or simply want to utilize the plate for “man-room” décor, you won’t find a nicer 1948 Montana plate anywhere. You"ll see some minor factory paint blemishes on the plate and the envelope displays some very minor dog ear creases on the corners and a crease on the closure flap.
