Here for your consideration is one of the WW2 scrap drive survivors: a 1930"s Mississippi lockstrip-style license plate that turned up in an old courthouse find some years ago. The source is long gone and the few plates found, widely dispersed. None came with matching year-date lockstrips a-f-a-i-k, and this tag does not have one. It does come with its original, somewhat deteriorated brown mailing envelope from the Columbus Marble Works where it was made. For condition please study the photos and read the detailed description above. NOTE: There is some controversy regarding the "actual" date of this plate. With the strip missing, it is very difficult to determine if this is a 1934 or a 1936 plate, since both appear identical from the front. My information sources indicate it is more likely a "34 due to the slot pattern on the back; however MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND.
