VINTAGE 1934 PRISON ART COPPER LICENSE PLATE ARIZONA unpunched/unstamped (no raised letters/numbers) PATENTED with ORIGINAL PAINT!!! WOW!! ARIZONA and license plate number 1V6Z were scribed on a flat copper plate which was the patent and then be pressed after.
Was accompanied with a note reading: J. Martinez, ARIZONA STATE PRISON (FLORENCE), CIRCA 1935?
UNKNOWN how Mr. Martinez obtained and worked on this plate. Could have been done in Prison workshop or in cell by hand? Paint must have been protected on a soft surface while working the hammering/shaping of the plate!!
