71 Barracuda, turn key, running, driving, registered, driver / cruise night quality. This car has been off the road since the early 80's (copy of last title dated 79') Paperwork going back to the original dealership in Daytona beach Fl. I have gone through it and have been driving it now for about a year and I am just looking for a new classic car as I always switch up every couple of years. Engine: vin matching 318 still under the hood. No smoke, no knocks and runs cool. I have a complete 1971 340 available for it, just overhaul it and drop in. The original engine has new carb, tune up, electronic ignition, belts, hoses, seals, fuel pump and complete exhaust with cable controlled cut outs. Trans is completely overhauled 904 beefed up to handle a 340. Driveshaft cut, balanced w/ new u joints. 8 3/4 (489 case) open rear w/ highway gears. Body: Originally a rare one year only color of Tunisian tan. Now rally red. Solid floors and frame rails, the worst rust is the driver side apron (pictured). The passenger 1/4 was replaced many years ago. Small spot in trunk and near gas filler. Paint is at least 7 years old. It is driver quality, very presentable but some imperfections. I put on the Cuda dual exhuast panel and kept it black. The billboard is flat black until light hits it then it reflects and turns white (strobe is what Plymouth called it). Grill is unrestored with a crack in the middle a small piece missing, very easy to fix and paint. Trim is very nice, bumpers are original and should be redone. Body overall I would give it a 7 out of 10 Suspension: original 14 wheels going with the car have new tires, great trim rings and the correct dark argent caps, the 15 steeliness have all new tires also, all new shocks, brakes are all new including booster and master. Handles well considering its originality, I have had it well up over a hundred mph. Interior: original two tone tan with no rips, seats are nice. Dash has a cap on it. No missing pieces. Overall it needs a good detailing. Needing work: factory a/c complete, clutch engages, holds vacuum for a while but switches / cables need gone through. Steering box wanders a little. Original am fm radio lights up but speakers deteriated.Has a short in the dome / brake light circuit. Working: All gauges, warning lights, all exterior lights (except brake), locks, e brake, all windows, 3 speed wipers and washer, horn, glove box light, key buzzer, ect.
