BS23 JOB 302127 - AAR “All American Racing” was the name of the
factory racing team led by Dan Gurney and co-driver Swede Savage during the
1970 “Trans Am” racing series. These
cars were registered as Trans Am Cuda’s but the name AAR was used because
Pontiac already had naming rights from their Trans Am’s, Thus AAR Cuda, and T/A
Challenger!
This car was built on April 10, 1970 - All 2, 724 AAR’s were built between Feb 3, and Apr
17, 1970, and is registered in the National AAR Registery
This is one of about 146 lemon twist 4 speed AAR's in the registry, and not all of those are numbers matching, so this is a very rare car!
My dad and I purchased this car in 1980 in the Brookville PA area, and finished the restoration in the summer of 1981. All mechanical and body/paint professionally done. Most of what you see was done
in 1981, the car sat and was used on a very limited basis until the summer of
2013, when I had to freshen up the restoration a little with new ties and shocks and a few minor things that needed updated, and I use it every chance I get when the sun is shining!
I have researched the car and have made every attempt to give an accurate portrayal of the car as it sits today. I just put new tires on it with the letters turned in, so there might be a few pics with white letters, and a few pics without white letters. I have the build sheet and documents from the restoration and can document the car has been in our family for 35 years!
Over the past few summers, I have made several road trips with no problems. Very road worthy and strong, yet still a very nice restored car that always attracts a crowd.

“Numbers matching, building sheet, VIN tags all correct. Car was restored to a high standard several years ago and is not a museum piece, but could be with very little investment. This car is is great condition after a "down to the unibody" restoration, and is a nice driver.has been in family's heated climate controlled "Car & Driver's Ten Best" garages since the 1980's. I've driven it 4,500 over the past few years. It has 81,648 miles, but i might use it tomorrow! 340 6 Pak - T/A block Pistol Grip 4 speed - Fiberglass hood, side exhaus,t AAR strobe stripe, black grill, rally wheels, driving lights sway bars, front & rear spoilers, rally dash Also has the following factory options added to the car but not on the build sheet: factory rear window louvers, factory AM 8 track player, factory front rubber bumper Also has non factory replica of Dan Gurny's AAR Trans Am team front spoiler.
