this is the nicest 1971 barracuda u will find for sale...WHY..because its virtually new from bumper to bumper. .yes, the bumpers r new also!multiple award winner.show and go.1971 is the pinnacle of chyrsler performance...and the 71 e-bodys reflect that..this is an investment quality car that will only increase in value in years to come..the pictures do not do it justice..and its so much fun to drive..alot of cuda's here for sale..some numbers matching.most not.but there are none finer...I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere..i love passing prious's on the freeway with all 3 carbs open and singing, , it has a very distinct air intake sucking sound/roar when that happens!
when i recieved the car it was a shell in primer. .with 3 pickup truck loads of parts either new or great condition parts...the quarters had been replaced.half quarters, and the drivers floor pan also, , frames r tied also..trunk was o.k.it was built with only the nicest original parts or repro's i could find. .everything works including the rebuilt heater, NOS clock, several gauges nos, wipers, fender mounted turn signals, backup lights, dash lights, , overhead light, new speedo, oil/water/alt guages, etc.comes with most all receipts for the parts and labor performed.a 4 stack in itself..the pics were taken today, , forgot to put on the original Chrysler antenna after removing the car cover..
BODY.
base/clear B-5 blue, , original cars had bare/non painted metal area's to save money.i.e.under the vinyl top, under dash, etc, , , i had the body shop paint EVERYTHING, , , no bare metal/no rust can start.including under the new vinyl top.i have never put a garden hose to it..only mequiers mist wash with a towel...all side glass lines up better than it did from the factory, , countless hours was put into alighning everything up on the car including the hood., all the chrome trim was polished from the winshield to the side trim..with all new rubber seals in the doors/trunk/windows/etc.from the space saver tire to the new refill bottle and bracket u cannot get better than this.. ,
recovered seats in black velour, very nice, , (u dont want original vinyl seats, even with a tight seat belt u will slide off them in a turn).the hemicuda shaker emblems are original Chrysler, , not repro's..
NEW,
so much to list from all glass except rear window, door handles, guages, carpet.headliner, dashpad, fittings, trim brackets, trim, weatherstripping, door panels from Roseville auto, , the best, sill plates, decals, console trim, etc, have most reciepts for the parts..shaker bubble has Chrysler part numbers on the under side.also has original cable to operate the cold/hot doors but not installed along with a new shaker base plate to hood thick rubber gasket, grills, cold/hot doors, dash wiring harness, motor harness, bearings, brakes, master cylinder, lines, gas tank and straps and sending unit, driveline, billit yoke, seat belts, ET wheels, tires, side markers, wheel lip mouldings.door mouldings, shaker base and bubble, custom slap stick shifter with a hurst pistol grip!perfect grill and trim.chrome head light bezels, restored rimblow steering wheel with fish cap with new horn assembly, 1500.00, horn works great, very nice, rebuilt heater with new core and seals. etc, etc, has an electric fuel pump for easy starting after storage with a switch to turn on and off.major thumbs up on that 1.power steering box was rebuilt by FIRM FEEL in Washington, , i believe it was there stage 2 rebuild designed to feel just like todays cars..very nice, unlike original's u can feel the road..with receipts..new door overhead light switches, , new visors, gas tank mat, trunk divider, sill plates, door trim, wheel trim, , , etc, , color keyed grill with perfect cheese grater trim, , new gills in the fenders, voltage regulator..NOS clock in the rallye gauge pack..new rallye wood grain panels.stock style electronic rallye tach, , very nice.new alt and oil pressure in dash gauges..also has mech steward warner mech gauges, oil and water, , piece of mind monitoring.. .new recovered steel dash pad, perfect, and freshly painted dash frame.and on and on. .NOTHING was left untouched, , either restored or replaced..bid with confidence..
DRIVETRAIN.
1972 440 bored .020 over with flat top forged pistons, block is decked and alighed honed.. 10-1 pump gas calif freindly..original 6 pack blueprinted rods, windage tray, std/std steel crank.6 qt 6 pack oil pan with melling HV pump, with oil pressure adjustment bolt, , yes u can adjust oil pressure externally on this motor...its all set at 60 psi.. AR enginnering billit timing cover, the best for positioning roller cams with an AR eng roller button.(400.00)MP aluminum water pump housing with milodon high volume water pump.new replacement big block radiator, not recored.160 degree thermostat, , runs nice and cool.. all roller valve train..RAS SS rockers the best(1100.00)isky red zone roller lifters(1100.00) the best for street use, smith brothers push rods.edelbrock heads with ports cleaned up with back cut valves..edlebrock 6 pack intake with 1970 direct connection mech 6 pack carbs, , (what chrysler should have done, absolute best).not vacuum operated.controled by your foot...msd ignition.appx 600+ HP, , its just barely broken in its so new..TTI full exhaust with chrome tips, , stock style, ...dynamic converter built for this combo, (650.00).rebuilt 727 tranny with shift kit, (1000.00), shifts auto by itself, A&A transmission 6-pack auto kickdown linkage, 1971 specific, 350.00, with the slap stik manual or auto just like original, , custom slap stik shifter using a new hurst pistol grip!you will love this 1.ratchets thru the gears with stops just like it did from 1971..u cannot buy that anywhere.., .742 case with 3.55 posi gears.new axle bearings, brake shoes/pads front and rear..original chrysler..7290 u-joints, 70 mph at 2900 rpm's..positve fins in the dynamic converter locks at freeway speeds, , bilstein shocks in rear, , monroe's up front.front sway bar.stock Chrysler disc/drum brakes(new shoes/pads) with new master cylinder and prop valve, and vacuum brake canister.im sure I have not mentioned everything that has been done to this car...there is just too much...call me if u r serious and we can go thru it..
this car needs nothing...except for u to drive it.
cruises nice at 70-80 down the freeway..perfect alignment..and if u want to reaaly haul ass..just open up the outboard carbs, , , it roars!
this car is show or go...no dissapointments..inspections welcome..none finer.the only blemish is on the right rear qtr where the body shop installed the phoenix graphics(licensed by chrysler)billboards.the decal rolled a little on them...
have owned the car for 10 years and have only put appx 2200 miles on it which the rebuilt new speedo shows, original 318 car in yellow., , have taken it to 3 shows this year and won all 3.. no time to enjoy because too busy working for the man...there is so much more in this car than I can possibly cover here..solid state electronic sending unit for the gauges, much better than the stock 1 which could burn your car to the ground...and on and on...if u r in the market for a 71(the pinnacle)cuda then here u r. if u buy another car than this 1 then u messed up. ..its that plain and simple.BTW, , , if u don't like the hemi decals on the doors, its a decal, , easy to change.doors only.not the qtr panel decal..u would be surprised how many times people r looking straight at the motor and asking me if that's a hemi..the original hemicuda emblems simply unbolt...o.k.no sweat.was going to change motor but plans change..too much corp. work..no time.
