Slant Six
Barracuda! Purchased in bone stock condition from the original owner (our neighbor) 28 years ago and has been in our family ever since. Owned, built, and maintained by former World Champion drag racer, Al Young. Built for the street and occasional show and shines, this car has never been raced - but it's performance is a surprise and pleasure to all who have driven it. Accelerates fast,
pulls hard, corners flat.
The Garrett turbocharger is the same size as used on Buick Gran Nationals, and supplies the slant 6 with more excitement than most 340's. It is an experience of sheer joy and exhilaration to drive, which is why I have kept it so long. 6 classic Mopars are one too many for me to keep, so I have to part with this one.
Original 1969 Plymouth Barracuda Coupe. Factory buckets. Color was originally a factory light yellow, repainted a factory Mopar Y1 yellow. 4 bolt pattern axles and hubs.

What you should be aware of before bidding/buying: This car is not a show car, and not in show quality condition. The transmission has been changed from a column shift manual to a floor shifted 904 automatic, and the manual steering has been converted to power (hence the steering column is also changed). Although not readily noticeable, the paint is faded in places, some small chips, some small scratches, and some small areas of rust or bubbled paint (see photos). However, it is in great driving and cruising condition and looks just like the photos. It will constantly turn heads (especially when you release the throttle, the Blow-Off valve pops off, and people turn and see this cool, classic, yellow 'Cuda); it is a joy to drive; and fun to show off it's uniqueness and power. And with care and maintenance, it will provide you with much enjoyment and a solid return on your investment.
Here are a few things that will demand some attention: interior panels are beginning to shrink and tear; parts of the aftermarket front bucket upholstery have opened at the seams; tires have tread but are old; small areas of rust on the lower panels (see photos); striker on driver's post is beginning to fatigue the surrounding metal and needs to be repaired, but still works fine; the outside door handle on driver's side is pitted (a non-pitted one comes with the car); the rear window trim is missing as well as the front fenderwell trim; shifter works fine, but the indicator arrow is non functional.
Buyers please note that this turbocharged car does not have a choke and therefore the engine needs to be warmed a few minutes before driving, but after reaching operating temperature, it performs without issues.
Recent work: new door seals; new front carpet; sill plates; oil change.
