Description:

This beautiful car is a 1970 Barracuda that started life with a 318. My father-in-law restored many Mopar muscle cars over the last 30+ years. Many were multi-show winners. This was his last car and it is not finished. He got sick about a year or so ago and just didn't have the energy to finish it before he passed away.I'm definitely not an expert on these cars but will do my best. Please send a message if you have further questions. I can send more pictures and talk on the phone if needed. This car has mostly sat for the last 2 years. But it started right up when I got it out of winter storage last week. Even though it has not been driven much we have started it up every month or so in spring, summer and fall and kept fresh gas in the tank.
The good: 1970 Barracuda with all The Right Stuff. 440 6-pack, newly rebuilt with very few miles on it. The engine has timing gears rather than a timing chain and I believe has been slightly bored out. HP is estimated at 500+. Rebuilt 727 Transmission. Dana Rear End. 4-wheel Power Disc Brakes. New master cylinder and vacuum booster. Power Steering. Painted in a rotisserie. Lots of new sheet-metal. We have the hood pad and the 440-6 emblems that go on the hood. New seat upholstery and dash pad.
Things left to do: Interior carpet is incorrect. There is some blistering in the paint under the rear license plate. The brakes need bled. Pedal goes almost to floor.. The engine has a miss, seems like its only running on 6-7 cylinders. The miss is either an ignition issue or carbs need final jetting. No stripes on car. No windshield wiper arms. There is no heat/cool unit installed but the controls are on the dash. Not all of the gages/switches work right. It needs all of the normal tweaks to fully finish this off and have a really, really nice car. I filled the gas tank yesterday and there is a slight drip from the tank. I can't fully pinpoint it but it appears to be in the area of the sending unit in the tank.
The car is being sold as-is. If I were a Mopar guy, I'd buy it and finish it, but it really needs to go to someone who can finish it correctly and more importantly really appreciate it for what it is.
