Description:

1968 Plymouth Barracuda Notchback
This Car is currently owned by a 75 year old Gentleman who has been in the Drag Racing Scene from California to the Pacific Northwest for the last almost 60 years. You name the track or the street race event he knew somebody there or was there himself :) This car has been owned by him for the last 30 years, known as Tom Thumb, and raced by him solely. Every angle of this car from the chassis, to the engine build, to the interior, on and on has all been professionally done mostly by our local Speed Shop and Dyno Lab Shellys Performance as stated across the top of the windshield. More of this info can be had upon purchase, all invoices and receipts, much more than posted here.
You will be hard pressed to find a Barracuda as straight and true as this car. No rust is evident anywhere you look, behind the quarter panels, floor pans, frame rails, on and on, NO RUST. Solid Solid car with no rust repair or replaced panels being done when it was painted, all original panels. The car started out life rootbeer brown. The paint and Vinyl Top were done in the 1990s and still look very nice. The new top has never had water on it and is extremely nice still, always maintained with baby oil, same with the dash pad. There was no rust under the top when it was replaced.
The paint on the car is very nice, even close up, but it does have a couple small heres and theres as I will describe, one is some damage from gasoline under the fuel cap, I have a picture, there is also a scratch on the drivers side quarter panel right at the door line about the length of a nickel you can barely notice but it is there. The paint has a lot of very fine swirls from not having been buffed in a couple years, it has only been cut and buffed once since having been painted so cutting and buffing would really bring out the depth in this paint. Again looks nice, but not 100% perfect, just a heads up.
Built 440
Big Comp Cam, see pictures for specs
Edelbrock Performer RPM Aluminum Heads
Forged Internals made for Nitrous, I can produce specifics upon purchase
Not a lot of runs on this engine, fastest pass was low 10s and I have the slips to prove it, it will go faster if you want to use the trans brake, easily into the high 9s.
Dyno Sheet on this engine is 595hp on Nitrous 436hp just motor, 549 ft/lbs torque on Nitrous and 434 ft/lbs torque just motor.
727 Transmission built for speed.
4500 Stall Converter, good roller stall
9in Ford Rear End
Dutchman Racing 35 spline axles
Spool
Tubular Front End, this car drives like a modern car, no squirm or shake, almost not exciting it drives so straight and true!
Roll Cage that is currently legal on most tracks and didnt require cutting the interior of the car, it is professionally welded in and looks killer, so if you wanted to take it out you could and there is nothing but two holes in the parcel shelf that would need patched. It is back from the dash, etc. 5 point seat belts for driver and passenger.
Disc brakes up front, drums in the back. Brand New Dash in premium shape, bumpers and door handles have been re-chromed and still shine very nice. Straight as can be.
The rear trim for the car is removed so it would't get damaged at the car show but are ready to be put on if you so desire.
ALSO INCLUDED with the car is the factory center console and the factory shifter if you wanted to replace the racing shifter. As well as the arm rests, the roll cage wont allow them to be run without rubbing.
This car is extremely nice. Not perfect, it is a Race Car that is totally functional and ready to go racing RIGHT NOW!! But it is a car you can be proud of. Valves just done couple weeks ago. Literally turn key and go racing!
If you have any questions please feel free to ask BEFORE BIDDING. This car is being sold AS IS and you are absolutely welcome to come see the car in person before bidding. The car is currently located in Usk, WA north of Spokane, WA (GEG airport) about an hour. I am happy to assist in shipping as much as I can as far as delivering to a local depot for a nominal fee, etc..
