Ok all you classic car fans! What we have here is a very rare bird. Only a couple thousand of these cars were made in 1963, and who knows how many are left, and of the ones that are left, you won't find a more solid convertible. This car sat in a dry shed for 39 years. That being said the floorboards are all in great condition, with no rust nor rust holes. The overall condition of the body and car is an A+. This car is a radio-delete, heater-delete, manual transmission cruiser. We rescued it from a Los Angeles backyard. The back plate tags were from 1977. The original owner passed away, and that's where I come in, purchasing this car several years ago. Since then I've went through a lot of effort to make it a good, driveable, reliable car. I went through the fuel system (Fuel tank and carburetor, while cleaning out the lines), did a complete tune up and brake job, and added new tires and a new exhaust.
On a cold start, the car fires right up. It idles well and purrs like a kitten. The clutch and transmission are in great shape, and it doesn't make any noise or leaks. The car has no oil leaks, and the rear end is nice and quiet. You can cruise down the freeway all day long at 80 miles per hour. The front end is super tight, with no vibrations, shakes, or noises. It's extremely smooth, and when you let go of the steering wheel, it goes straight, and the wheel is centered. No bump steer or rattles. It's an extremely tight convertible. I'm not really sure what the real milage is, but it drives like a low-mile car. It has 4 wheel drum brakes, which have been serviced, and the front-end alignment is dead on. The radiator has been rodded out, and the cooling system works great. All the gauges on the dash work, except for the clock. This is a very reliable car, and you should be able to drive it anywhere.
The car is very complete with all the trim intact, and all the stainless steel and chrome is nice and bright. A few of the pot metal trim parts have some minor pitting. It's painted with a bright blue pearl metallic, base coat clear coat two tone paint. The car is laser straight and has a mirror-like reflection. The top, interior, and carpet are all new and in great shape. The dash is really nice with no cracks. It comes with a custom made boot to cover over the convertible top when it is down. The lights and turn signals all work properly. It has new weatherstripping all the way around, and all the windows work, with unscratched glass, and they all go up and down great. The car has a numbers-matching motor and transmission. The motor is a poly 318 with a 2 barrel carburetor, which runs great, but you can always upgrade this MOPAR into a HEMI or a big block engine. The rear end is an 8 3/4 limited slip that doesn't leak or make noise.
I have a clear and open title in my name, and it has current registration. The car is located in East County, San Diego, California, and it is for sale locally. The auction could be ended early. Classic cars are a great investment, and this rare bird is only going to go up in value. This car is not a patched over rust bucket. It is a very awesome car, and it drives like a dream.
