Price: US $500.00
You are viewing a 1966 Plymouth Fury III Sedan. This car is 95% original with 69, 000 miles. This car would make a fantastic entry level car for someone wanting to get into the car hobby. It is fun, worry free, and guaranteed you will have the only one at shows. It was featured in NSRA 2015 Street Rod Nationals Program. I have owned the car around 1.5 years and it has been taken on multiple trips (Longest about 800 miles) and runs down the interstate with ease. Car has a clean Tennessee title. Details are below and thanks for viewing.
Drive Train Specs:
Engine: 318 V8 Poly. (This is the wide block version of the 318)Transmission: 727 Torqueflight Automatic Rear End: 8 3/4 Mopar, fluid has been changed. Brakes: Drums all around, manual master cylinderExhaust: Dynomax muffler, single pipe. Quite when idling but has a good tone under acceleration. Options: Power Steering and A/CCondition: The engine runs well. It doesn't smoke or have any unusual noises. It leaks a small amount of oil but its not serious and is manageable. I believe it is from the timing chain cover. The transmission shifts as it should and does not whine or make any noises. The power steering works very well and this car is a breeze to dive. New Parts: Aluminum Radiator, Electric Fan, Alternator, Starter, Voltage Regulator, Rear U Joint, and Power Steering Pump.
Body
Paint: The color is an off white. The car has been painted at least once during its life. The paint on the car has buffed out fairly and has shine to it but its not a mile deep paint job. Rust: There is very little rust with the worst spot being behind the rear drivers side door. The previous owner painted it black thinking it hid the rust. There is a couple very small places behind the rear window at the bottom corners.Dents: There is a dent in the passenger front fender that occurred before I owned the car. Trim: The trim on the sides of the car have been straightened, polished, and the center repainted by myself. The paint color is as close as I could get to the darker green color that is found inside the car. The trim is not 100% perfect but I dare you to find another 66 Fury with better side trim for this price range of car. The grill and the rest of the trim is in good shape but is not polished except for the chrome pieces (bumpers and tail light bezels) The stainless around the windows is in good shape and has also been polished. Skirts: The car has a set of fender skirts that match the paint color and body lines. They can be seen in the photos.
Interior:
Seats: The seats are in decent shape. The front seat has a split in the drivers side. The rear is split on the drivers side at the seams. Other then those two issues they are fine. Doors: The door panels are in excellent shape with some patina from arms hanging out the windows. The wind lace needs to be replaced. (stuff around the doors) The windows roll up and down with no issues. The vent windows both work but need a little help closing. Dash: The radio does not work and the clock does not work. Other then that everything else works and lights up. The speedo dances a bit but is fairly accurate. Carpet: The carpet has been replaced at some time. Trunk: The trunk has the original plaid floor mat in it. Options: This car has dealer added A/C, however I have never tried to make it work on the engine side. The under dash unit does work and blows air. This car has window blinds in the back window. These were an aftermarket option in the 60's and are very hard to find today and if you do they are very expensive($1000). They are blackish gray after being faded from the sun. They are aluminum and can be taken out to clean the window.
Other:
Wheels: The wheels are 15x5 and 15x7 chrome steelies with bullet center caps. The centers have been painted the same color green as the side trim.Tires: Firestones with around 3, 000 miles on them.Stance: The car has been lowered by the previous owner by turning the torsion bars in the front and 2 inch blocks in the back. I have installed angle shims in the rear to fix the pinion angle and had the car realigned after installing the new wheels. The oil pan is tucked behind and higher then the engine cross member so it is fairly protected from being hit or scrubbed. I have never had a serious issue with the car hitting anything but it is something has to be kept in mind when crossing speed bumps.
If you have any questions please ask. If you wish to discuss the car in more detail then I have described above then that can be arranged as well. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction and any point if sold locally.
Payment Terms: 10% down at time of sale with full payment within 72 hours unless strongly negotiated otherwise.
Pickup/Shipping:
Local pickup is an option. Shipping of the car will be the responsibility of the purchaser after full payment is processed. The required support of seller can be negotiated after sale and payment.
