Gran Coupe Hardtop
. It is kind of rare because
most Gran Furys were four doors. It’s a two owner prior to me. First owner was
a lady that drove it 50, 000 miles, second had it 13 years and drove it 18, 000
miles. Currently has
less than 70, 000 miles
. I have the original owner’s
manual, two Mopar shop manuals, many of the original service records and all of
the receipts for what I’ve spent.
You see some
low mileage old cars for sale. Figure on putting $10, 000 into them replacing
seals, correcting age related electrical problems, replacing tires, shocks, rebuilding steering, etc., etc., etc.
Mine has all
of that done plus all the parking dings removed, new 1977 Chrysler black sunfire
mist (not show quality, but very nice driver quality), new seat upholstery, upholstered package tray, new headliner and new carpet. Vinyl top is original
and in good condition. Upholster, carpet and engine look gray in the pictures, they are black.
All stock, except paint color; JVC stereo; add-on electric gauges; head & tail light
covers; and dual exhaust. I have a period correct Carter Thermojet carburetor
and manifold (not installed), which with the new dual exhaust makes it the
equivalent of the 1974 high performance engine. The 1974 engines never had smog pumps or catalytic converters, but had
hardened valves in preparation for converters that came in 1975, so this engine
uses unleaded gas.
AC has been
converted to 134a Freon and works very well.. The old R22 Freon costs over
$100.00/lb. It hard to get and has to be installed by a technician licensed for
R22. That is why many ads for old cars say “AC works, just needs charged”.
This car takes over 4 pounds, so I had it converted by a professional for about
the same price as adding old style Freon. Any future charges required will be
relatively inexpensive.
400 CID BB engine, Torqueflite 727 transmission
. The 400 is the recast 383 replacement.
Lowered 3”
front, 2” back. (Easy to change back, if you want original ride height.)
Perfect
cruiser, attention getter at local shows. See a lot of Impalas and Galaxies, but you’ll be the only Gran Fury Coupe at the show. Ideal for getting the
family into car shows, cruising, or Sunday drives for a reasonable cost.
Send your
questions before bidding. A list of all new parts and work is available by
e-mail.

“Nice car, drive it anywhere. I don't know of anything it needs, other than changes you might want to make to suit your style. New paint is not show quality, but is very nice driver quality. It is a forty year old car, so there might be something I've missed, but it runs great, no obvious problems. Car is from northern Idaho, I brought it west 14 months ago.” |
