1961 Plymouth Other

Plymouth Other (1961)
for sale

Price: US $9,995.00

Description:

This automobile is a bit of an odd bird when it comes to Plymouths of this era. While it is a midprice model (Belvedere), it is equipped with a slant-six engine and a three-on-the-tree manual transmission, which would have been standard equipment on the cheaper Savoy or fleet models. This car sat most of the last 50 years in a barn in North Dakota. I located and restored about 6 years ago. The original engine was actually one of the rare ALUMINUM block six cylinder engines, but corrosion had rendered the block unrepairable so it was replaced with an iron block. This engine was rebuilt from ground-up with all new parts. Vehicle has new gas tank. All colors and livery are restored to original design. There was NO floorpan rust prior to restoration and the only rust on the body was behind the rear wheels on the fenders. The interior is original other than new carpet and floormats. Front seatbelts have been added. Old tube AM radio works clear as a bell. Rear window and windshield have sediment stains from leakage in North Dakota barn. While they are subtle I have been advised by glass expert that the only way to correct is to replace. Vehicle has been featured on the front cover of the national Plymouth Club magazine in recognition of the model's 50th Anniversary. Clean TN title. Located in Louisville KY.
