This car is a running, driving, original numbers matching, 1973 Plymouth Roadrunner with fender tag. It has a 318 (2bbl) with a 727 Torque Flight (3-speed - automatic), 1 of 5, 477 made with this combo in 1973. The exterior is Tahitian Gold Metallic (JY9) with Transverse (Hood) White Stripe (V8W) and White Bumble Bee Stripe (V9W). The interior is Gold (Y4). It has the power bulge hood, factory 14” rallye road wheels (Magnum 500 style), relatively new tires, dual sport/racing mirrors, disc brakes, dual exhaust, rallye dash (including 150 mph speedometer and factory radio), Craig radio/8-track player and deluxe steering wheel. The car looks and sounds mean!
The car has a little over 109, 000 miles on it and it needs a complete restoration (interior, exterior and drive train). It will definitely be worth it in the end though, because it is a real deal Roadrunner, not a Satellite clone. Both quarters will need to be replaced and there is a lot of surface rust/patina on the top and trunk lid. Body is straight otherwise. Floor boards and trunk pan are solid. The engine uses a little oil but it still runs great. The transmission shifts well and feels tight.
Trust me, there is nothing like owning an early 70’s Mopar Muscle Car, in fact many call 71-74 Roadrunners the “perfect” muscle car! You will get tons of looks and thumbs up while driving it and it’s probably pretty safe to say that your neighbor doesn’t own one of these bad boys! Happy bidding!
