I don't really know what rolls off the tongue better than '69 Roadrunner. It sounds cool no matter who you are. Here is one of the best examples of a survivor. It can be made to run and drive in a weekend, or you can strip her down and restore it like it needs to be. Here are the highlights- ->*original paint and all original sheet metal*all original interior from the headliner to the carpet, except someone replaced the front bench with buckets. And man does it smell like OLD MOPAR in this car when you open the door. You know that amazing smell. *NUMBERS MATCH 383, 4 speed, and both of these match all body numbers on the core support, trunk and vin plate on the dash. *one complete build sheet and maybe more in the vehicle. *heater box and all under dash wiring, etc in pristine condition. *no air, no power steering, no power brakes (yes, this is a highlight)
The glass in this car is extremely nice, side windows roll up and down effortlessly, all seals , weatherstrips and mouldings are in place and in excellent original shape. The original frame/splash guards are intact with all their clips. The frame is one of the best I have seen front to back. This car still has its original trunk floor and floorboards in very solid condition. The doors click shut nicely as the strikers still have their nylon guides. Original keys work all of the tumblers front to back. The front bumper has a small bend but is nice. The rear bumper is super nice and will clean up to be a high quality driver or show piece.
The engine has been rebuilt and is ready to go. 9.2:1 compression, .030 over, crank .010, rods conditioned and resized, balanced, keith black pistons, arp rod, main and head bolts. Mopar purple shaft .474/280 duration. 906 heads have hardened seats and new guides/new valves/comp cams springs. The 23 spline 833 four speed has a new flywheel that comes with, and complete new clutch kit. (engine and trans are currently not in the vehicle as you can see in the pics.
The left rear quarter needs a lower patch section put in, and there is some rust in front of the left rear wheel but not bad. The pics show it well. As stated frame rails are great, torque boxes, leaf mounts, etc are awesome. Someone installed a heavy duty rear shock mount section to accommodate the air shocks so if one wanted to cover that up you would need a small section of the front trunk floor. Wheels are original to the car, tires are vintage and not roadworthy. Has 8.75 rear axle in 489 case. Brake master needed badly. (no lid lol)
If you are going to pass this one up, for the price of a clapped out used hyundai, and wait for the next numbers matching classic bird to come along, you may be waiting a while. They don't make these anymore and they are getting fewer and further between piles of birdseed. Enjoy the pics and good luck bidding. 913 208 4508 if you have questions.
