1965 Pontiac Bonneville

Pontiac Bonneville (1965)

Price: US $200.00

Description:

You are looking at what is probably the nicest, best preserved 1965 Pontiac Bonneville wagon left.  This car is in all original condition with original paint, interior, chrome, etc. and only 48, 700 original miles.  There are nice original cars, and then there are REALLY nice original cars.  This is the latter.  It is amazing how well preserved it is.  I truly hate to part with it, but it's just time.  I have had it since 2007, when I purchased it from the original owner who cherished it since new and boy does it show. I have posted about 100 photos in this description to carefully show the incredible condition of this car.  Please take a close look. The car as far as I can see has not had any paintwork.  The original owner mentioned he had a small area fogged in on the rear quarter where there was a scratch but I truly can't find it, and I am no stranger to this stuff.  The paint is bright, glossy and I don't think its ever had a buffing wheel even put on it.  The lower trim that usually has some road rash on '65 Bonnevilles looks like NOS. The interior shows almost no wear.  The original carpet is very nice.  The dash is a sight to behold.  When you drive it, it feels like driving a new car.  It does not rattle, shimmy, creak etc. The original owner was a car enthusiast and this was not the only car that he kept long term and in like new condition.  He had a '57 Coupe de Ville with about 15, 000 original miles on it that he also had bought new. He sold that shortly before he sold this car as well. I have the original window sticker, sales invoice, build sheet, some old registrations and repair receipts through the 1980's and 1990's showing the mileage.  The car had 46, 758 miles on it when I bought it in 2007 and has 48, 800 now.  The car is equipped with LOTS of nice options - 389 V8 with 4 barrel, Turbo Hydramatic, power steering, brakes, all windows (tailgate window, vent windows too), power seat, AM/FM radio, remote mirror, spinner hubcaps, interior light package, under hood reel out light, two tone paint (silver blue with black roof) and Pontiac floor mats.  Sticker price was $4754.80 delivered to David Fogel Pontiac in Wayne, PA.  Check out the original invoice, I guess when the car arrived (it must have been ordered), it did not come with a tinted windshield as requested, so Bud Dodsworth the salesman gave him a set of the Pontiac crest rubber floor mats instead and put it in writing. The mats are still in there, thanks for that Bud.  The original owner titled the car in his sister's name for some reason so he said.  He transferred the title to his name when she passed in the 1980's .  The address on the paperwork is the same all the way along from 1965 to 2007 in Malvern, PA. After I bought the car in 2007 I did some mechanical things that it needed after having done more sitting that driving.  I did a full tune up, added 5 correct 9.00x14 BFG Silvertown tires with 1 inch whitewalls, recored the radiator, serviced the transmission, put in new radiator and heater hoses and belts, new rear main seal (used the new Vidon type), carburetor rebuild, front end alignment, flushed the braking system and adjusted the shoes.  It meets the road the way one would want it to.  I also added the correct roof rack right after I purchased it with a very nice original one. This car looks and feels like it has 10, 000 miles on it.  It just throws off that kind of appearance.  That's a testament to the car the original owner gave it. I require a $1000 deposit within 24 hours after the end of the auction via Paypal or bank wire. Balance within seven days after the end of the auction, paid via bank wire or cash in person. I am very confident that this car will please the purchaser.  In fact, if you are the winning bidder and pay the $1000 deposit I have stipulated, and you physically come to see the car within five calendar days after the end of the auction and do not like the car, I will refund your deposit and you will not be obligated to purchase it.  I will only offer the deposit refund if you physically come here and refuse it in person.  If you purchase the car sight unseen and have it shipped to you the deposit and the full payment is non refundable and the standard Ebay rules will apply.  I am a long time car collector and have made some friends along the way when I have sold them cars.  So I want to be happy and want you to be happy.  Please feel free to call me with any questions you may have 201-406-4423.  The car is being offered on an as is where is basis with no warranties nor guarantees express, written nor implied including fitness for a particular purpose.  I reserve the right to end the auction early if I so choose. This car is not a bargain, but you have the chance to purchase what is likely the best one that is left on the Earth.
