Description:

I am selling my 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT. The car is not currently titled! Please read that and understand it before you bid... The short back story goes like this;I purchased this car in hopes of driving it as a daily commuter. When I got the car I was told that the title had been lost and could be bonded for tagging and use. Anyway, the little jerk lied and in the State of Georgia, they don't care about helping you figure out how to do anything to get a 100% working, driving, stopping basically functioning car on the road that has been mistaken for a parts car. So.. Through research I discovered that this car was brought to GA from TX and never tagged or titled here. It cleared the local Sheriff Dept. vin check for theft or fraud, so I bought him. I later found out once at the DMV that the car was listed with the State as a parts car and could now not be titled. The previous owner did know this, but failed to include that information in the conversation. You see, he bought it from an auction company when it became the part of an Estate sale. The auction company did not think that paying a simple $50.00 fee to open the title was worth the effort and thus did not. When the car was sold to the auction company, they simply sold it as a parts car and washed their hands of it. The dude I bought it from apparently tried to tag it, got rejected and listed it for sale as lost title. Well, I figured the car passed the Sheriff files, so the title story must have been legit and I bit the hook. With all that you might ask Why are you trying to sell it now if it can't be titled? Well, I researched that as well and there are several States that are okay with this situation and it simply needs to pass an inspection and then they can tag it and put it on the road. Other States require bonding, and some like Georgia don't care and keep you on hold for hours to tell you too bad! (I'm assuming of coarse. I didn't call all 49 other States. Georgia's hold time was long enough.) Through my research, Texas was the last place the car was titled and on the road and it was in 2012. The State still has the car in their data and it CAN be bonded through the State of TX and used in TX for you TX readers... This car runs as it should, stops great, shifts great, steers great, the radio works, the lights work, the AC WORKS, the interior is awesome, the body is excellent, the tires are new, the motor is clean, there isn't any rust on the car, the sun roof doesn't leak... I can go on and on... It is a 100% WORKING parts car! I've had several of these little cult classics and this one is by far the best I ever had to start with. I installed the tires, added new sail panels, flushed the coolant, set the timing better and changed the oil with Mobil 1 while I was waiting on my paperwork to clear the State. I had totally intended to use this classic car and enjoy it for years to come. I put a good bit of time in going over it and it really didn't need anything major to consider it road worthy. You can imagine my disappointment when my paperwork returned with the horrible news... Thanks again Georgia! I am hoping that this car can either help out someone restoring a Fiero, or be titled in a State that cares and someone can use this little guy. I am offering it for a low reserve that will be more than affordable to the hobby of restoring for the value of these parts. I don't want to start pulling this or that for folks and one day be stuck with a shell that I again won't have any need for. I don't have the time to put into buying a crappy Fiero and swapping this car's functioning entirety for a shell with a title. I have started a new project, so this guy can find his new forever home. Please feel free to email any questions you may have. I hope that explained where I'm at with the car and what would need to be done should you try to get him on the road. I have to say it again; (THIS IS GOING TO BE FOR PARTS ONLY SALE). I will provide a bill of sale to the buyer. I wish you luck should you choose to bid. I really want an enthusiast with a passion for these cars to grab him up and love him like he is willing to love back. He's gonna make a good buddy for someone some day!
