Description:

Hello, I have an auction for a 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula. It has the ws6 rpo code in the glove box.It has a manual transmission (5 speed). And is equipped with T tops. Now anybody who knows anything about these old F bodys, this combo is extremely rare, especially since a lot have been wrecked or rusted or parted out. It is more or less a project car. And is far from perfect. But it is running and driving good I would say. It does have a minor hesitation at mid rpm. But full throttle, no hesitation. It does pick up and go very quickly. For a 305 Tbi its very responsive. But as far as that hesitation it Could be an easy fix, but I'm on a very tight budget most recently, so I have been selling a lot of my things. Including my toys. Most of the issues I am stating were there prior to me owning the car. I haven't owned it that long. So lets begin body wise. This car has never been restored and has rust and has rust on the quarter panel on both sides and both wheel wells. Rocker panel is just starting. But the floors as far as I can see just have surface rust and are solid. There is damage on the passenger side door and rust because of it, as seen from pictures. Was there prior to me owning it. Needs a Windshield. Mechanically, it does run good. Drives good, shifts good. The transmission makes a noise when clutch is depressed. But it hasn't gotten any louder since I have owned it. The clutch gripping point is about and inch up from the floor. And shifts fine. The cooling fans don't work on their own. You have to turn the ac on to operate the fans manually. And this part I was mad at as well, again it was like this when I purchased it. There is no wiring for the windshield wipers. So they do not function Im not able to find the wiring anywhere. So rain x is my good friend. The headlights work fine. And sometimes don't go down on the first try, the second time they usually do. The engine does run good, pretty powerful. The steering wheel is angled a little to the right. Was like this prior to me owning it. Whoever took it off last placed it too far right. And the steering wheel has play moves up and down has alot of play. I guess the steering knuckle screws unloosen with time. Its supposedly a gm thing.Heater works Ac needs recharge. Check engine light comes on while driving. Now this part I was very mad at. When I purchased the car, the speedometer wasn't working. After I bought it I learned the Odometer wasn't working either. Both work great now. And speedometer is 100% accurate. So because I cant verify the accurate miles I have to say its 9999999. All I can tell you is its Over 129k miles. I spoke with the Secretary of state of Illinois. They said it is all good to sell. But I do have to sign on the bill of sale, that the miles aren't correct. Because was purchased with it not working. Given its an antique in Illinois its miles are exempt from being recorded anyways. And in my opinion anybody looking for something like this, it shouldn't be a deal breaker. The interior has some wear on it. But overall isnt too bad. The backseat has the most wear. Front seat drivers side has a couple tears. Passenger seat is nice. But all the negatives aside. I am very honest whenever I sell anything. I have no reason to lie. This would be a prime candidate for a Ls swap, or just a fun car to cruise around in, or race car. I have had it on the highways, driven it long distances. It has always started up and got me there everytime. It has a clean illinois title in my name.

I may be missing a couple things, but that's all I can remember. So It has seen a lot of maintenance. And running wise it definitely shows. So here is your chance to own a rare option 1988 firebird formula.Every year fewer and fewer of these are on the roads. And these are all antiques now. But like I keep stressing, its sold as is no warranty. Its not perfect. Its a project. If you have any questions or concerns let me know. As far as shipping. I will leave that to you. Or local pickup only. I havent driven this car extreme long distance, so I dont know how well it will handle road trips of excess long distance. I haven't ever sold a car on ebay before, so be patient with me. I will try to answer all the questions I can. Thank you and good luck.
