Pontiac Firebird (1968)

Price: US $3,000.00
Selling a really nice 1968 Firebird body that spent its life in the Phoenix metro area. It was originally Verdoro Green with a white vinyl top (top trim pieces are still attached to the body), 350 engine, TH-350 trans, A/C, parchment interior, rear antenna, and deluxe seatbelts. The VIN plate and cowl tag are still attached to the body, but there is no title. I bought the car in 2012 from a Pontiac collector in the Phoenix area named Steve Barchak. The body has several bad spots: the driver's side floorboard requires replacement (yes, it rains in Phoenix sometimes), both sides of the outer cowl are dented (easily repaired), the rear package shelf was butchered for speakers (remember how you did that as a teenager?), the radio hole was butchered (and I am including an unbutchered original panel to replace it), small rust pinholes in the lower right quarter panel (a very small patch would repair it easily) and there is a dent on the passenger side rocker panel. The rest of the body is absolutely rock-solid...perfect underside with clean floors, beautiful spring perches and attaching points, nice original gas tank (one small dent), perfect inner fender areas with factory undercoating, perfect tail panel and inner panel, nice trunk floor with only superficial rust, nice trunk drop-offs, undented roof with original headliner bows attached, nice trunk lid with only surface rust (and trunk tension rods still in place), undamaged A/C firewall, original back and rear side windows with original chrome trim, original windshield trim, original nice taillights, original non-tilt steering column and steering wheel, and a nearly perfect subframe with the original GM subframe bolts and new rubber mounts. It has nice front drum brakes that can easily be swapped for disks. There is no steering box, but the wheels are easily steered by hand to move it around. The windshield cowl area is absolutely perfect with no rust-thru like you find on 99% of 1st Gens. This body is a perfect starting point for a 1st Gen Firebird or Camaro build (just change the rear panel, fill in the arrowhead side marker holes, and eliminate the fish gills and you have a '68 Camaro). I live in the Columbus metro area, just 2 miles south of I-70, so this body is easily picked up. I have $3, 000 invested in it, and I'm sure it's worth every bit of that. Buyer must pick it up within 30 days or I will charge $100 per month for storage (I'm getting rid of it to clear out the garage and make the wife stop complaining about it, so you picking it up will achieve both of those goals). Buyer is responsible for arranging and paying for shipping (I would go to Uship.com to arrange shipping...my zip code is 43147 and the car weighs about 1, 500 lbs), but I will do all I can to assist getting it out of here. A non-refundable down payment of $250 is required on Paypal within 24 hours of auction end, and the rest is due by cashier's check within 10 days of auction end. Buyer will receive a notarized bill-of-sale when check clears my bank. My number is 614/769-5868 if you have any questions. Thanks and happy bidding!
Note: Ebay wouldn't let me list this without specifying a title, so I listed it as rebuildable...but there is no title...bill-of-sale only. Mileage is listed as 99, 999, but it is unknown.
