Good for parts or restore. 1965 Grand Prix 389. The body is very rough. Mainly the roof. It's completely rotted out. The original owner kept very good care of this car until he died in 2003. The car was willed to his daughter who neglected the car. It sat outside, unused until recently. There are no keys to the car but there is an ignition switch under the dash that operates with a screwdriver. The car has a CLEAR TITLE and Bill of sale.
Did I mention the car is very rusty? The roof skin is shot. big holes in it. But the roof structure looks good. the floors have rust holes but fairly solid still. the trunk floor is there but weak. The doors are rough, the fenders and hood are fair. The quarter panels have usual rust behind the wheels, but overall not too bad. There are no signs of accidents to the car. All panels look original except the trunk lid which is okay on the outside but has rust underneath. the frame is in exellent shape. This car is NOT rusted due to road salt so the underside looks pretty good.
The car still has the original engine. code YF. and TH400 trans and open rear axle. The car runs pretty well. I believe the engine was rebuilt at one time. The transmission shifts strong and doesnt leak. I will also sell the car for 500.00 off without the engine. The radiator is nice. The radiator support looks pretty good too but rusty around the lower splash apron.
The brakes work, the parking brake works, the exhaust is good. The car could be made drivable easily. The speedo, fuel gauge and amp gauge work. The clock, radio and heater do not work.
The car has lots of options:
Automatic A/C (not working, but complete)
Power steering (works well. no noises)
Power brakes (work well)
Power seat. (makes noises, doesnt work)
Power windows (rear windows will work, fronts dont)
Power vent windows (drivers will work, passengers does not)
Tilt steering wheel (works)
Reverb speaker (not sure as the radio and speakers are there, but dont work)
Power trunk release (vacuum operated, works well)
Power antenna (not working)
Vinyl top (moldings are there)
Map lights (MISSING)
Spinner wheel covers (all 4 are there. Fair condition)
The dash pad has just one crack. still looks decent.
The car is very complete MINUS these parts that I DO NOT HAVE and dont go with car:
Console and shifter. (A screwdriver will move shift cable)
fender skirts
Map lights
Trunk lid emblems
wiper arms (wiper motor works well)
The car is rough as stated. However its a car that will run, move and stop on its own power AND has the original drivetrain AND has a CLEAR title. If you would like more pics, please just ask.
