YOU ARE VIEWING A RUST FREE 1 OWNER 77LJ RARE T TOP BEAUTY BOUGHT FROM COURTESY PONTIAC IN LEWISTOWN MONTANA AND IS POWERED BY THE PONTIAC 400 AN OPTION ON THE LJ AND ALSO ORDERED WITH THE RTS HANDLING AND FIRM RIDE PACKAGE OPTION. THE OPTIONAL SELDOM SEEN CAST ALUMINUM SNOWFLAKE GRAY WHEELS MAKE A GREAT LOOK WITH THIS FACTORY COLOR PAINT. THIS LJ WAS NEVER DRIVEN IN WINTER AND IT SHOWS AND WAS KEPT IN THE OWNERS 6 BAY CLIMATE CONTROLLED GARAGE. THIS LJ HAD AN MSRP OF OVER $8600 A TALL SUM FOR A PONTIAC IN 77 WHEN YOU CONSIDER A 77 CORVETTE HAD AN MSRP OF AROUND $9000. WITH SALE THE LJ COMES WITH COPY OF ORIGINAL TITLE FROM 1977, ORIGINAL BUILD SHEET, ALL PHS DOCS, ALL ORIGINAL MANUALS AND 2 SETS OF ORIGINAL KEYS.
THE LJ ITSELF
THERE ARE SO MANY FINE DETAILS ITS HARD TO MENTION ALL.THE OPTIONAL FACTORY 2 TONE DARK CHARCOAL/STERLING SILVER PAINT COMBINATION IS STUNNING. THERE IS NO CHECKING, NO FADING, NO DENTS, NO DINGS FROM FRONT TO BACK AND HAS AN MIRROR SHINE. THE BODY PANELS HAVE EXCELLENT FITMENT AND THE DOORS DO NOT SAG AND YOU DONT HAVE TO SLAM THEM TO CLOSE. THE OPTIONAL ROUGH GRAIN LANDAU TOP IS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE WITH NO BUBBLING NOR RUST AROUNG THE EDGES.THIS LANDAU TOP ACTUALLY HOLDS UP BETTER OVER TIME THAN THE MORE COSTLY PADDED LANDAU TOP WHICH TEND TO DRY OUT AND CRACK OVER TIME. THE CHROME IS ALSO VERY NICE WITH NO PITTING. ALL STAINLESS TRIM IS EXCELLENT. THE WHEEL WELL MOLDINGS HAVE 0 DINGS YES NO DINGS. THE OPERA WINDOW MOLDINGS HAVE NOT SHRUNK AND ARE STILL A PERFECT FIT. THE ROCKER PANEL MOLDINGS ARE ALSO GREAT.ALL EXTERIOR EMBLEMS AS YOU CAN SEE ARE BRIGHT AND NOT FADED.THE ORIGINAL BODY SIDE MOLDINGS ARE ALSO VERY NICE. ALL GLASS HAS ITS ORIGINAL FACTORY MARKINGS WITH NO STONE CHIPS IN THE WINDSHIELD. THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE STILL THE ORIGINAL STAINLESS AND COMES WITH EXREMELY HARD TO FIND BLADE REFILLS. AS FOR THE INTERIOR JUDGE FOR YOURSELF LOOKS LIKE IT WAS NEVER SAT IN, NO RIPS TEARS NOR STAINS IN THE SEATING AREA AND CARPET AND ALL IS STILL BRIGHT. IF YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH THIS INTERIOR COLOR FIRETHORN USUALLY FADES OVER TIME. THE DASH IS EXCELLENT WITH NO CRACKS. NOTE THERE IS NOT ANY WOODGRAIN TRIM WORN OFF THE STEERING WHEEL (HOW OFTEN HAVE YOU SEEN THAT?)THE ORIGINAL FLOOR MATS ARE HARDLY WORN AS LIKE THE SEATING AREA, THE OWNER HAD THEM COVERED. THE HEADLINER IS IN NICE CONDTION.THE PLASTIC SHOULDER BELT GUIDE WARNINGS ARE STILL IN PLACE. THE BACK SHELF BELOW THE REAR WINDOW HAS NO SUN FADE. THE T TOPS DO NOT LEAK AND THE HEADLINER HAS NO SAG AND HAS NO WATER STAINS. THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IS IMMACULATE. THE HOOD INSULATION IS VERY CLEAN WITH NO HOLES OR SAGGING AND COMPLIMENTS THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WHERE NOTHING HAS BEEN PAINTED. ALL FACTORY DECALS ARE BRIGHT AND READABLE. THE SAME CAN BE SAID OF THE TRUNK COMPARTMENT WHICH STILL HOUSES THE ORIGINAL SPARE AND JACK.
THE MECHANICALS
WITH A TURN OF THE KEY THE 400 FIRES UP AND PURRS GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE TRANS SHIFTS SMOOTHLY AND THE BRAKES STOP WELL. THERE IS NO ENGINE , EXHAUST, OR BRAKE NOISE. ALL MECHANICALS WORK AS THEY SHOULD. THE HEATER TAKES CARE OF BUSINESS AND THE AC BLOWS COLD. HEATER, AC AND WIPERS WORK ON ALL SPEEDS. ALL INTERIOR/EXTERIOR LIGHTS WORK AS THEY SHOULD.CLOCK DOES NOT WORK. THE AM/FM PLAYS WELL WITH NO STATIC AND ACTUALLY SOUNDS GOOD FOR A RADIO OF ITS ERA. THE 215/70R 15 BFG TA S HAVE 95 % TREAD LIFE.
