You are bidding on a true 100% original survivor - 1956 Pontiac Star Chief.
This is not a barn find as I did not find it in a barn & I would prefer it not to be made into a rat rod. This is a prime candidate for a full blown restoration or would make a super cool low budget family cruiser. The car has its' original paint, body panels and interior. No restoration/body work has ever been done to this car.Whether you are looking for an investment to fully restore or simply want to clear coat the natural patina and reupholster the interior, you will have to look long and hard to find a 59 year old car in this condition for my low reserve price.
As I write this I find myself asking myself Do I really want to sell this car? Truth be told I don't, however I have a couple of other projects on my plate and I really do not have the room, time and money for all of them.
This car is 100% original. The body is super solid and straight. Rust is extremely minimal and is limited to light surface rust only. The floor & trunk pans are as solid as the day it rolled off the Nebraska assembly line (see under car pictures). Fuel & Brake lines are in remarkable condition. Bottoms of doors and rockers are extremely solid with no rust holes anywhere. Chrome is in overall good shape with minimal dents and dings. Doors line up and shut solid. 4 barrel Strato-Streak engine does not run, however rebuild kits are available. The front passenger fender is damaged between the door and wheel. Damage is minor and should be easily repaired as the body lines are gradual and smooth. Drivers side window is cracked and can be easily replaced as it is a flat piece of glass. Missing one headlight bezel and has a cracked rear tail light lens. New tail light trim rings come with the car. Interior is original but dry and brittle due to its' age.
I have tried to include pictures of all the typical problem spots associated with older cars. If there is anything else you would like to see please let me know.
With a little TLC, this car would make a nice family cruiser.
Good luck!
