1979 Pontiac Trans Am !!!
This Ride is an awesome head-turner in the Flat Black!!! Every time I take it out people are wanting to check it out or take pictures with it.I have been buying, selling, and enjoying various Muscle Cars for 15 years and this is probably one of my favorite cars I have ever owned. It has probably the meanest attitude of any Trans Am you are ever going to find, and probably the meanest of any of the rides I have currently ( and that is saying a lot).
The car is overall very solid, but for sure not perfect. It could be daily driven while working on it as a very easy entry level project. It would also make a great weekend toy.
Exterior:
The Paint isn't perfect and has various little nicks and chips here and there, but is still a v very good looking drivers paint job that gives the car an almost Mad Max type of attitude.the front windshield trim needs new plastic clips for the middle piece. A Bird flew into it going down the road and didn't damage the glad but bent the trim piece slightly and broke the plastic clips underneath. Could order some and replace the clips for you if it was a deal breaker...
Interior:
It has a very nice interior ( one small rip on the dash that you can see in the pics, barely noticeable). Again, it is by no means perfect but is very presentable inside for a driver. The rear passenger seat has a small tear and the drivers seat track is rusted where it bolts to the floor so the seat leans back a bit, but is still safe. It has been like this since I got the car and I drive it all the time.
Engine and Trans:
The Pontiac 400 6.6L engine (6x heads) is strong and dependable but could use some carb tuning. Transmission Shifts crisply. This car has a mean burble at idle and is a lot of fun to drive.
Body:
Overall very solid. floor pan has some rust spots that will eventually need patched, a couple small holes have rusted through in isolated places but doesn't effect the inside . Has a few other places where rust has been (attempted) repaired but small bubbles have come up due to improper repair. rear frame rail has some rust...Glass is VERY Good. Ball Joints have been replaced. Will need tires soon. Complete Car...No hunting a bunch of hard to find parts here. Still handles and drives very tight.
Basically this is a whole lot of AWESOME for the money. There are a lot of little things it needs, but none that prevent it from being a great driver in the mean time. Probably the most Trans Am you can get for anywhere around $10, 000 anymore and reserve is set much less. I do not think you can buy more attention, attitude or fun in a car for less money. A great car at an entry level price.
