Pontiac Trans Am
for sale

Price: US $35,000.00

Description:

This 1979 10th Anniversary Trans Am with a FACTORY 4-SPEED is has been a cherished part of the family. Unfortunately, we no longer have time to drive it. It has been adult owned, driven, and meticulously maintained. Recently it has had a new clutch, intake manifold, battery, and reproduction seatbelts installed for better safety. The OEM manifold and seatbelts have been kept if necessary to maintain originality. This car has only been driven as a fair weather family car, less than 200 miles a year. This car as it sits, is a rarity, 1 of 1, 817 to be exact.
Under the hood is a clean 56, 000-mile motor with the correct Pontiac blue paint on the block, T/A chrome valve covers, a fresh alternator, and factory A/C, which was standard on the Anniversary T/A. This car has the factory (numbers matching) Pontiac 400 with a Super T-10 transmission. The factory claimed that torque was the same at 220 HP/ 320 pound-feet or torque. This car feels much faster. Additionally, there is now an Edelbrock bi-plane intake manifold under the factory carburetor. Wiring and hoses are in excellent condition. It does carry a set of aftermarket headers (by hooker). The 4-speed Trans Am has 3.23 gears in the 10-bolt rear for improved acceleration and decent highway manners. Underneath is clean for a 56, 000-mile original car.
The body features zero rust damage - really! The floorboards are original and still covered by factory undercoating. This car features one quality repaint in its history file, it could easily pass for well-maintained factory paint. Panel gaps are factory, and nothing about the finish is badly done. The decal package on this car was reapplied after the repaint, and remains in excellent condition. This car has always been garage kept, there is no checking or cracking or sun damage. Minor flaws include, the driver side marker light shroud is showing some signs of age with some cracking, and a few missing pieces of paint on the trailing edge of the driver’s door.
The interior is silver leather which matched the cars silver exterior. This Trans Am’s interior is in excellent condition, displaying little to no wear at all. The shag carpet on the floors is in excellent condition, and the dash is 100% original, including the gauges and engine-turned dashboard. As with all 10th Anniversary Edition cars, this one is loaded with every single option Pontiac could throw at a Firebird, including power windows, power locks, factory A/C, and an AM/FM radio. This car also sports an AM/FM/CD player integrated into the console below the dash, keeping the original (8-Track) radio intact if you want to go back to 100% original condition. The T-tops are the original mirrored glass pieces, and the factory-issue storage bags are still in the trunk with a complete jack assembly and space saver spare tire. This car comes with the original build sheet (not a PHS reproduction!), which is incredibly rare, as well as receipts.
This vehicle is being sold as is, with no warranty. There is a clean Texas title. I am not looking for tire-kickers, joyrider - serious inquiries only, as my time with my family is valuable, so is yours. Viewing by appointment only, there will be no test drives unless a deal is reached prior. Please feel free email with any questions you may have. I can then set up a time to receive calls.
The asking price is a reasonable $40, 000, which is just below the average that these have been selling for at auctions and private sales. I am willing to consider reasonable offers. More photos can be made available upon request, but photos do not do this car justice.
NOTE: I am not responding to dealer assisted sales calls, or other listing services.
