2014 Porsche 911 50th Anniversary - 24K in Options - 5, 900 Miles
“… the best-looking Porsche ever, and best 911 ever.” —MotorTrend
If you are reading this, you probably already know what a special car this is. Better, it has all the right options. Original cost of the base model 50th Anniversary was $124, 100. Add PDK and 24K in options and this car topped $150K new—if you could get one.
The graphite grey really stands out. (In person it bests the graphite grey that can look faded and the black which blends in.) This also has the terrific LED headlights (with the daytime running lights), 18-way seats that grip just right, and a non-glass sunroof that retains the correct homage to the original 911 and, for those living in warmer climates, blocks the sun. Maybe you wonder why not on the black and white cloth seats that were available at no cost? They look interesting, but one could question whether they will hold up as well over time. Black leather is always classic (and durable).
About the 50th Anniversary Edition:
It features the wide body, typically reserved for the all-wheel drive Carrera 4 models, and is limited to 1963 cars, a number that represents the year of the 911 world premiere. Anniversary cars are also equipped as standard with a Powerkit, which increases engine performance to 430 hp and includes the Sport Chrono Package and sprints from zero to 60 mph of (conservatively, per Porsche) 3.8 with PDK with a top speed of 185 mph.
Additional features of the anniversary cars include:
Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) with special tuning to complement its increased track width and to add support to the exceptional cornering dynamics of the 911
The sport exhaust system outputs a fitting emotional sound.
Special 20-inch wheels are a visual tribute to the legendary “Fuchs” wheels and are finished in matte black paint with machine-polished centers.
Chrome trim strips on the front air inlets, the fins of the engine compartment grille and the panel between the rear lights emphasize the distinctive appearance of this limited edition model.
Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) with bi-xenon headlights and dynamic cornering lights.
These cars also have the two-tone 3D-effect badge on the rear lid with the numbers “911 50.” This is repeated in three color embroidery on the headrest and in two colors as a logo on the tachometer and the aluminum door sill plates. It can also be found on the cup holder panel together with the limited edition number of the individual vehicle. Other exterior characteristics of the special model are high-gloss window frames and sport design exterior mirrors on the doors panels.
Additionally, there are tributes to the original 911 in the interior as well: green labeling on the instruments with white pointer needles and silver caps on the instrument pivot pins, just like 50 years ago. The full-leather interior is designed in black with decorative stitching, some in contrasting color. The driver and front passenger seats are the optional 18-way sport seats plus. The gear shift or selector lever – which matches the decorative panels on the dashboard, doors and center console in brushed aluminum – comes from the Porsche Exclusive program.
MotorTrend gave this care a rare 5/5 rating, adding the comment: “I’ve come to two conclusions about the 50th Anniversary 911: best-looking Porsche ever, and best 911 ever.”
Equipped with a factory Powerkit this is the most powerful Carrera S ever produced. And now that Porsche has gone the way of turbocharging, many believe these late model normally aspired Porsches follow the path of the other classic Porsches such as the 993.
Not only is this a fantastic driver’s care, this is a rare chance to own a part of automotive history with the potential appreciate over time.
Car retains the balance of FULL FACTORY WARRANTY thru JULY 2018. Dealer also just performed annual service in May (2016) and the car has been driven less than 25 miles since.
Adult owned. Always garaged. Never tracked.
Original Build Sheet from Porsche included.
