Description:

You are viewing a beautiful black 1971 911T Targa. Black interior, 5 speed, Fuchs alloys, S instruments and trim. California car from new. Certificate of Authenticity with car showing matching numbers for engine and trans. Correct Zenith carbs.
Original color, Conda Green, now painted black, with a very high quality color change. Body is very straight, with great gaps. never hit or rusty anywhere . Has had much recent work to make it an excellent and reliable daily driver, including Carrera chain tensioners, new shocks, new Optima battery, new tires, new upper valve covers, new lower valve covers, new plugs, new flexible fuel line, and so on. Period Becker AM/FM in proper DIN hole in the dash. Spare tire is a steel wheel, jack, and partial tool kit. Original owners manual in glove box and a huge collection of service records, totaling over $25, 000, documenting previous California service & ownership, as well as recent work done. COA included as well. This car was previously owned (twice!) by noted Porsche authority, Jim Schrager. As part of his private collection, this 911T was always cared for and maintained, as one would expect. In fact, purchase includes a personally signed copy of Jim's excellent book on early 911 ownership!
The front bumper is a good fiberglass reproduction, but is not original to the car. All trim on the front and rear bumpers is in excellent condition. The front windshield seal was recently replaced and the bright alloy trim was replaced as well. The Targa top seals do not leak. Driver's seat is original, but has a small split seam on the bottom cushion. Clock is inoperative. The carpet is newer, and in excellent condition. Vinyl covering on the rear deck has perforations where speakers used to be located – currently patched, but deck can easily be recovered. Top of inside door trim on driver's side shows some wear.
Fuchs are genuine OEM, not aftermarket, in the correct size of 6 x 15 with good paint and excellent polished surfaces, but are from 1972-1973 instead of 1971 when a slight design change was made and the safety ribs were added which protect the wheel from losing a tire if there is a puncture. No curb rash. Chrome on window frames is excellent, as new. Interior has good door pockets fore and aft on both doors. Dashboard is original and in very good condition with only one very small crack between the speaker grill and the defroster vent on the passenger side. Very good 911 S leather covered steering wheel, original. Starts, runs, drives very well. Shifts very well, excellent steering and brakes. Good oil pressure, does not run hot. A puff of blue smoke occasionally on start-up, but runs very clean. UNGO alarm box still installed from back in the day in California, but it is not wired in. Euro tail and front turn signal lenses.
Overall, a great, original 1971 911T, that is ready to be enjoyed at once. It’s rare to find such a nice example that’s never been rusty, damaged or modified. As they have in the past several years, the value of these cars is expected to continue to rise dramatically in the foreseeable future, making this a fabulous investment, that can be regularly enjoyed. Obtain one now, while it is still a “5 digit” ($) car.
As stated, while this car is not perfect, it's as nice a 911T as I've encountered. It simply runs and drives flawlessly, and almost as you'd have expected in 1971. Pampered and loved for over 44 years, with much of it's history documented.
I encourage all potential buyers to come inspect the car in person prior
to buying or bidding. Your bid or offer is a binding contract. Feel free to call me with any questions or for more information. Car condition is subjective. I have owned over 100 Porsches, and am picky about my cars, but potential owners should decide for themselves if this car is for them. Car is sold AS IS, WHERE IS. Transportation is ultimately the responsibility of the buyer. International bidders are welcome, but please have U.S. funds and transportation arranged prior to auctions end. Zero or negative feedback bidders please contact me prior to bidding or your bid may be cancelled. Please only bid or offer if you are serious. Finally, feel free to email or call me at 574-361-5315 with any questions, more details, or if you'd like to make an offer. Good luck!
