2002 Porsche Carrera with documentation since new. Car has been a garaged PCA owned car since new. I bought this car 2 years ago to commute in to work. This car is in great shape and needs nothing, absolutely turn-key. Body and original paint are in good shape (it has a couple dings and scratches). No rips or tears in the interior and everything works as it should all the way down to the headlight washers. Headliner is in excellent condition as is the carpet. Driver’s side floor mat has one rub in it. The car has the bi-xenon headlight option, Bose system with removable sub, cruise, power windows, power locks, ice cold air, 6 way driver and passenger adjustable seats, power mirrors, power sunroof, climate control, intermittent wipers, front and rear window defoggers, keyless entry, IPOD integration, GT-3 wheel option, appearance group, and auto rear spoiler. This car is the MK2 2nd generation 996 with the 3.6 and 6-speed manual transmission. The car had questionable oil pressure and a bad synchronizer in 2nd gear when I bought it.
Within the last 35k miles the following work has been done:
Valves lapped with new stem seals, Plugs, IMS chain tensioner pad, Main bearings, connecting rod bearings with bolts, Headgaskets, All new case seals, front and rear main seals, Oil pump, oil pressure relief valve, oil pressure sending unit, vacuum canister, alternator, alternator decoupling pulley, starter, air/oil separator, gearbox with 42k miles on it from a 2005 donor car (Fluid changed with summer Swepco and original transaxle included with the sale), clutch / pressure plate upgraded to a 997 MK1 unit, Liqui-Moly 10W-60 break in oil and subsequent religious 5k oil and filter changes with only Mobil 1 OW-40, bank 2 CAT replaced, and new Sumitomo HTRZ III front tires (still 70%).
Within the last 5k miles the following has been done:
New Good Year Eagle F1 rear tires, brakes all the way around with new wear sensors, Rain-X wipers and a brand new battery.
This is a great opportunity to own a reasonably priced 996 that has all of the big stuff recently done. Upgraded to a 997 in the water cooled world and ready to let this one go.
