One of a kind Porsche 911 MKI GT3 Tribute - 2001 Carrera 2 GT3 Clone
I am selling my flawless MKI GT3 Tribute Car. 100% Complete GT3 Clone with well over $20k invested
The MKI (1999-2001) GT3 was the first ever GT variant manufactured by Porsche. They produced a total of 1, 868 MKI GT3’s between 1999 and 2001, however they were not allowed in the North American market due to DOT regulations; Porsche went changed that later in 2004 when two versions of the GT3 were available to the U.S. market, however they have a the face lifted front end as well as a less subtle rear wing than the MKI. This example of shares much of the same characteristics of the MKI GT3, such as Porsche’s subtle weight reduction as well as stiffened suspension and wider tires than the standard Carrera 2. Upon seeing this car and driving it in person, you will find a massive difference from driving your standard Carrera. At the completion of the project, driving this felt more powerful, agile, and crisp compared to my 2006 997 C2S.
The 911 has 121, 775 miles on the odometer. I purchased the car with 121, 183 in February of 2015 from Florida, where it started life as a collector owned Arctic Silver Carrera 2, and had it transported via car carrier to New Jersey where I turned it into a full overhaul project. The overhaul began with a thorough examination of all engine and drivetrain components, as well as chassis, cosmetic, electronic, etc.. All wear and tear components (brakes, bushings, suspension) have been upgraded and replaced. The car was well maintained by it's previous owners, however a full thorough service and tune up was done, all fluids were flushed/replaced, the motor was pristine, both inside and out; there was no evidence of any abuse or neglect. The car has never been tracked and upon inspection this is clearly evident. The previous owners were Porsche enthusiasts who took meticulous care and completed all preventive and scheduled maintenance. The car has 512 miles on the overhauled motor & chassis components.
The cloning/build process was meticulously and professionally planned out months prior to purchasing the car, resulting in a truly unique, head turning, pleasurable outcome. Over $20K has been invested into this project. The bottom line is that this is an extremely beautiful, unique, one of a kind sports car gone super car while maintaining the perfect balance of practicality and reliability. All work done, including maintenance/service and aftermarket upgrades have around 200-400 miles on them; the car is 100% complete. I take it out every so often to C&C’s regularly to keep it at full strength. When not driven it remains in my heated garage with a trickle charger. This is one of a kind; you will not find an example of this caliber anywhere else. Extremely clean example unlike any other 996 on the market. The car drives new; I encourage any PPI’s upon request.
I have done multiple similar projects on a variety of cars in the past; my hobby is turning them into unique one of kind vehicles that stand out from the crowd. No expense was spared throughout the entire overhaul process. Everything has been fully examined and addressed by a reputable and longtime certified Porsche technician who is a PCA member and avid Porsche fanatic, as well as myself. Clean CarFax and a Clean NJ title, no accidents or bodywork.

A huge plus is that only the 2001 Carrera 2 was the last standard Carrera with a limited slip differential, where currently limited slip differentials are only offered in GT3/GT3 RS models.
The car drives and performs amazing. The pull is insanely hard when you get the RPM's past 3.5k, handling is crisp and sharp. Behaves when you want it to and turns into a whole different animal when you are feeling the need for some spirited driving. I am very curious to see how she performs on the track, but hopefully the new owner will have the pleasure of experiencing that.
