This beautiful black over black 1969 Porsche 911T is currently available. This car is very solid and original example with minor period type or “R Gruppe” modifications. The car drives out very nicely with snappy power from the Weber carburetor supplied 2.0 liter engine. It really is a pleasure to drive. . There is little known rust on the car and appears to have been in good hands over the years. The 911 shows very well and would be a great vehicle to take to shows and club events or just to drive for enjoyment. It is hard to find a 911 that is truly this solid and complete. Enjoy the car as it is or take it to the next level. I have several more photos that can be provided via a link. . Below are some more details on the car.
The car is currently covered in a very slick gloss black. The black emphasizes the classic 911 lines and gives the car a very elegant feel. The original color on the car is Bahama Yellow code 6805. This is noticeable in a few spots across the car such as in the engine compartment where some of the black has worn away. I am not positive when the color change was made. However, it was a glass/light/trim out color change, to which at the same point, most of the seals were replaced. The paint shines up beautifully with a mirror like finish. I made sure to show the flaws in the additional photos that can be provided. . There are a few scratches in the paint and I was able to find about 3 very small dings that I had a hard time capturing on the camera, very minor issues. On the driver’s and passenger side doors, there are a few spots of slight wrinkling in the paint that I believe is from age. Once again, minor issues and I tried to capture this with the additional photos. This car has little known rust underneath and across the body. I found one spot of bubbling under the passenger’s side headlight which is typical of these cars. The floors, trunk pan, sills, and underside of the car are extremely solid. There are no known issues that I have been able find underneath the car. Around the car, the trim is all present. Some of the trim has been cleaned up after it was previously painted black. The door frames are very clean as well. All of the glass is solid and crack-free. Great chrome on the headlight rings and the lights are also near perfect. There are a few cracks on the turn signal lenses, also shown in the photos.
Another strong point on this car is the interior. Car has a very original interior with the exception of an early period correct Momo Prototipo steering wheel and some additional VDO gauges. The Recaro seats are vinyl, soft, and free from tears. Seat trim is all there and in very good condition. The carpet is very clean and intact. It does appear that the driver’s side carpet piece has been replaced. All of the gauges work as well as the lights. The radio turns on however there is no sound coming through the speakers. The headliner is in excellent condition, there are no loose spots or areas of discoloration. The visors are in great working order and not puffy as they tend to get over the years. The interior trim and door pockets are complete and in very good condition. Lastly, the dash is solid and crack free. Once again, I have more photos that go into greater detail on the interior.
This 911 retains its original 2.0 liter engine and 901/13 5-speed transmission that are both believed to be, to my knowledge, numbers matching to the chassis. The car starts up with ease and once warmed up, the Weber Carburetors are very well tuned to the engine. Engine is largely stock with the exception on an ungraded sport exhaust and Perma-Tune ignition system. The exhaust gives the engine a very throaty tone. Also, the car has heat exchangers correct for 69 but they are not hooked up. Just need to attached the hoses. The engine is sealed up well, with little oil leaks other than minor weeping from the lower valve covers. Center case is dry to touch and so are the timing covers. The car has upgraded Carrera tensioners installed for greatly timing reliability. The 901 dog-leg gearbox shifts well up/down and the clutch holds tight with plenty of travel. The suspension on this car has been slightly upgraded with larger sway bars, polyurethane bushings, and Bilstein Sport shocks. It handles very well with these upgrades. There is some creaking from suspension which is to be expected with polyurethane bushings. The brakes work well and have upgraded steel braided lines installed. It appears the car was originally equipped with steel wheels. However, it now has correct size 15 inch Fuchs with period Pirelli tires. The finish on the wheels is very much original, no major curb rash, dents, or bends.
This is an exceptional 911 with a lot going for it. Very hard to find a car that has a body as solid and straight as this car. If someone wants to take this car to the next level, it would be done with ease. I personally love the car in black but early bahama yellow cars are a rare find. The next owner of this car will not be disappointed with it. It is a 911 that is ready to take to local shows and to be driven and enjoyed. Values have risen on these cars over the recent years as they are a true iconic piece to invest in. It is a car you can hold onto and expect to appreciate or at least retain its value. I encourage any and all questions on this vehicle. As mentioned earlier, I do have over 300 photos and can get more if requested. I can send a link to the additional photos.
