The X50 brings larger turbochargers and intercoolers, and revised engine control software to the party resulting in a horsepower bump to 450. And what a party! We recently got our hands on 993 and 991 Turbos, thereby bracketing this example. Though the 991 Turbo is incredibly capable with blinding performance, and the 993 downright scary, this is a nice blend of controlled insanity - a very precise shifter, crazy acceleration, throaty Porsche growl from that 4 valve, LeMans-winning engine, and super tight chassis all underline how well engineered this package is.
