Here we have a car you won't see again for a long long time. 1965 Porsche 912 Chassis number 350244 is a very early 912, the 244th in fact to be built at the Porsche Factory. It comes with engine number 740730. We all know in Porsche owning the card that trumps them all is the rare card, and you don't get much rarer than a painted dash 912 that was one of the first 250 made! The painted dash cars have always been special to me because there are a direct descent from the 356 with it's painted dash. You can tell the same people who built and designed the 356 for all those years still had the flavor of the original Porsche in their minds when they made the early 912's, it's almost like they weren't quite ready for the 356 legacy to fade away. This 65 painted dash car looks to have originally been white with a black interior. At some point it was painted black but they left the dash intact with the original white. These early 912's had some very distinct differences even from the later 3 gauge 912s. Things like the knee guard were very different to accentuate the painted dash, these cars had a very minimal knee guard just on the bottom, the later cars had a much fatter one that ran not only on the bottom but up the sides too. While this car is very cool and extremely rare it is also a 50 year old car and has some rust to prove it. It will need floors and some other metal work underneath, please look at all the pictures to get an idea of the rust repair it will need. Now that the 911's are priced into the stratosphere the 912 is quickly turning into a a great alternative, much like they were when they were new. And guess which 912 will appreciate the fastest, I would put my money on a rare painted dash one. I have owned four painted dash 912's over the years, but this is the earliest. If you have been looking for a rare car to restore and enjoy, without having to get a 2nd mortgage, this may be the car for you. Don't miss out!
This car has a clear title and is ready for export. I am a 356 and Early 911S Registry member with an eBay Feedback Rating of 100%, so bid with confidence. Please ask any and all questions, they will be answered quickly and honestly.
