The 1976 912E is a very special car. Only 2099 cars were produced over a 15-month period in 1975 and 1976, and only sold as a 1976 model to the North American marketplace. And this is one of only 500 produced with a factory sunroof.
This car is finished in the original shade of Ice Green Metallic and also features a very well-maintained and very clean tan interior. It has the 2.0L air-cooled engine featuring the Bosch L-Jetronic (Air Flow Controlled) fuel injection system​ and a 5-speed manual transmission. The car is very tight ... great suspension and brakes, clutch and transmission are also in great condition. The car has 136K miles and shows as having been very well-kept.
The fuel injection system has just been thoroughly serviced with a new air flow meter, new injectors and a new fuel pressure regulator, along with other tune-up and maintenance items such as plugs, points and air filter. When purchased, the A/C system was missing a few components, so it too has also been repaired and updated with an assortment of both new and used components (all A/C systems on these cars were dealer-installed). The car has been lowered 1 front and rear by adjusting the torsion bars up front and installing new adjustable rear trailing arm brackets and control arm bushings. We also installed a new rear sway bar and attaching hardware. This car also features 16 Fuchs alloy wheels with a fresh polish and brand new Falken tires. The exterior trim on the car has been updated with all new bright pieces, as well as a new windshield and new windshield and back glass rubbers. It also has new Hella H4 halogen front lamps.
The market on the 912 cars is growing stronger and stronger by the day. This model (1976) being the last year of production for the 912 along with such a low number of cars produced, it almost guarantees the collector-car status of this car today, and surely in the years to come.
