This auction is for a 1974 Porsche 914 with original Zambesi green paint. The odometer shows a little over 2000 miles. .most likely 102, 000 miles and I have no documentation to prove the actual mileage. I have a clean title and I'm the legal owner, a private party car enthusiast, not a dealer.
This is a stock fuel injected 1.8 liter car, that runs, shifts, drives and stops extremely well. To the best of my knowledge and few short drives, everything works including the clock. This Porsche has the appearance group and center console with gauges. It appears to have back dated early chrome bumpers, that and a more modern radio and a rear deck lid shocks/lifters set up are the only deviations from original. This Porsche has a very solid, rust free chassis. The battery box appears to have been replaced with a correct unit, and I did some minor rust repair/welding to the front trunk seal channel, these are super common rust areas on 914's and these areas are now pristine, with no rust, and new paint.
Anti-rust treatment by Ziebart was applied when new. The process included drilling some small holes in the body in various places and spraying anti-corrosive compounds into the body cavities, the holes are then plugged with plastic plugs. In addition to that the front and rear trunk bottoms were also coated with anti-corrosive tar. I spent a couple of days removing all of the tar in the trunks and repainting the bottoms of them, they are now nice and green and pristine/new looking. The good news is the Ziebart did a great job of preserving the body. .see pics.
This Porsche has the original spare wheel, and a super nice original jack but is missing the tool kit and owner's manual. The interior is fantastic with the exception of the dash which has some cracks.
It is my opinion that this fine 914 has most if not all of it's original factory applied paint. That being said there are some weak areas including touched up paint and some dents and dings. As you can see in the pictures this Porsche has some patina but it shows very well and looks amazing for a car that is over 40 years old.
This fine automobile had new tires, master cylinder, a new carpet kit and a rebuilt pedal set just prior to my recent purchase. I picked this car up locally with the intention of detailing it and selling it and I have owned it about two months.
