East Coast Classics is proud to offer this 1974 Porsche 914 2.0. This vehicle is in very good condition. The previous owner took it to a body shop, and once it was taken apart, decided not to move forward with the paint job. We purchased the vehicle, and were pleasantly surprised when it arrived at our facility, as it was in far better condition than what the previous owner had stated. He was worried that the car was a “rust bucket”. It’s nowhere near being a rust bucket. The only rust we found was in the driver side jack tube, and very minimal rust that was hidden under the side decals. Other than that it’s in great shape. The hell hole isn’t hellish at all! The interior is in good to great useable condition.  The mileage reflected on the odometer is 87, 479. These cars have a 5 digit odometer, and it’s possible that it’s gone over one time, but I don’t see any reason that the miles are not actual. Has the original Mahle Wheels. Three of the tires hold air, the fourth does so for only an hour. The car is missing the rear light housings and lenses, the front running lights housings, rocker panel covers, interior light that goes between the seats, and the antenna. This car would be great to put back together and enjoy as is. The car has been repainted yellow. I believe the original color is white. Paint isn’t great, but it’s not horrible, has some dents and scratches as you’d expect from a car this old, that has also been sitting in a body shop for six months. It’s a great driver. The 2.0 liter engine runs great. Has a single carb setup. Transmission shifts through all the gears smoothly and effortlessly. By the way, when it got here, I got in the car, turned the ignition, and it turned on immediately. Didn’t even have to bring out the booster! It does have a leak (yay, Porsche!), that is dripping onto the heat exchanger. I’m not 100% sure, but it’s probably just the valve cover gaskets, which I’ll throw in for free. This would make a fun first car/first project for someone feeling the Porsche addiction coming along. Would also make a great weekend driver as-is. If you’re still reading this, then you know what you are looking at. 914’s have begun to rise in value. I’m not saying that they are going to be anywhere near the air-cooled 911’s anytime soon, but they will continue to rise in value. Get one while you can. I’d keep the car, but according to our CFO, I have to stop doing that!
