Selling an original 2 owner 1987 PORSCHE 928 S4 Automatic with 85K miles. The car had been in dry storage since 2006 when it reached approximately 85K. Car was pulled from storage a few months back and after replacing fuel pump (replaced with Original Bosch pump) and fuel filter, air filter and getting an oil change it started right up. This is the perfect example of a survivor 1987 Porsche for anyone who is looking for an exotic classic car. Looking at the condition of the car and based on feedback from other people from the shop this is a very unique color and a rare car to find in such condition.
The car runs and drives very smoothly but the mechanic mentioned that given the mileage it will require a timing belt change and in the process I believe the water pump must also get replaced (Mechanic mentioned that most Porsche 928 enthusiasts should already know this).
The car has its original MARINEBLUE color (see color tag on door) that looks like new with the exception of a few minor scratches in the front bumper and rear bumper that you may be able to see from the pics. There is no rust anywhere on the body, or underneath, no color fading or mismatched spots on the body. Car was never in an accident nor was ever repainted or touched up. It has a white and dark Blue (matching the body) interior as shown in the pictures. Overall the interior is in a good shape but I am sure it can use some TLC and the carpet some cleaning. Not sure if shown in the pictures but there are a few cracks on the dashboard. Overall the interior, Power Seats, switches, electronics appear to be in good shape and similar to the rest of the car appear to be all original. There is also a net that goes to the back and a cover that connects to the hatch to protect the back between the rear seats and tool case (see pics). As also shown in the pictures the car comes with the original BLAUPUNKT stereo (RENO SQR 46 stereo manual also included) and it lights up and works fine, limited to cassettes of course but it certainly works. There is also a factory Blaupunkt amplifier under the passenger side cover on the floor next to the seat. On line these type of stereos sell for anywhere from $500 to $700 without the amplifier. The original owner’s manual, Service book are included along with Tool set and some additional Dealer items shown in the pics.
The car comes with the original wheels in very good condition without curb rash or major scratches. Tires where replaced near the time the car was stored so it has new tires front and back and they are in excellent condition without cracks, dried, etc. Front tires are Dunlop D60 A2’sP225/50 R16
and the rear tires are TOYO 245/45 R16. If additional pics are required from a specific part of the body please email me. Given its age the car is being sold as-is so if you are bidding please make sure you know what you are bidding on. although Car can be driven the recommendation from the mechanic was to get the timing belt and water pump replaced before the car is driven long distances to avoid any damage to the engine if the timing belt breaks. If you are the highest bidder I would recommend getting the car transported. This is truly a unique and beautiful looking car for the Porsche 928 enthusiast!!
Known issues with the Car: Battery needs to be replaced and the rear hatch one or both of the shocks need to be replaced (will not hold the weight from the hatch)
