It is my pleasure to introduce a car, which construction has been my eminent dream and will, hopefully not only move me further in my life but also contribute to realising my biggest dream ever – to obtain an airline pilot license.
My name is Martin Hrabák, I am 33 years old and I am a common boy from an ordinary Czech „blue-collar“ family, living about 50 km away from Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic. My biggest hobby has always been, since the early stages of my childhood technology and engineering. As most of the boys, I was interested in cars and motorbikes, later I discovered historic cars and as the time went by I encountered planes and flying – since then it has become my greatest hobby, the meaning of my life and a profession.
At the beginning I was a young admirer – amateur who enthusiastically kept visiting aviation days and loved everything about planes. After finishing secondary school and later completing military service I decided to start flying actively – my first steps went to Aero club Hořovice, where I was allowed to fly by older and more experienced pilots. It was a reward after the work I did at the Aero club.
As the time went by, I started to understand that flying for fun is simply not enough and suddenly this dream came to me – I simply wanted to change my hobby into my profession. My aim was not only to share my passion with others but also have this amazing chance to help people and be beneficial for others. By that time I knew I would work within aircraft services

but the decision was whether to join the army or the police.
I chose the police aircraft – in my opinion it is directly oriented to help people in need .Working for aircraft police means helping others actively.
My first dream came true– after several years of hard work I became a board technician at the Flying Police Squad and I have been working there for several years. This job gives me plenty of satisfaction. On a daily basis we search for missing people or rescue them from inaccessible areas, rocks, abysses, and water as well as extinguishing vast forest fires.
Still there were other things on my mind, the most important goal in my life that I wanted to achieve – to become an airline pilot. Of course I was well aware of the fact that to gain the licence I need plenty of money and I knew that my salary would never be enough.. Slowly, I started to reconcile with the fact that my dearest dream is vanishing in the mists.
Anyway, as I managed to win several competitions in navigation and skilful flying I just could not bear the fact that I would never be able to see the happy faces of the passengers on their way to their dream holiday or I would never have the chance to hear an applause after a smooth landing – which is always so rewarding after this responsible and challenging job. I simply couldn´t stop thinking of how to make the most of my handiness and passion for historical cars and in what way accomplish my dream.
For the last money I had, I decided to buy a „construction kit „of a sport roadster made by Kaipan Company.
It took me three years to build a car and I could not wait for the moment the car would be finally completed. Strictly speaking I was not at home at all. I spent my days closed in the garage working on the sport car. My girlfriend was moaning about it all the time, she called my effort a nuisance and nonsense… she even was not interested in seeing my hard work and after some time she left me.
I fell asleep hundred times in the garage and went directly to work the next day. You see, it cost me immense effort, loads of time, troubles and money as well. I tried to save money whenever I could. I didn´t buy clothes, shoes, I used to buy cheap things and food…just to complete the car.
Of course, there were moments I was feeling weak and without any motivation. I knew that I was making a car that I was dreaming about as a child but the situation was that I simply could not keep it. I was constructing it with love and as the time flew I was falling in love with it.
Finally the D Day came and the car was completed! After three years and thousands of hours the moment finally came – I made it! I conquered another life challenge – I gave life to a truly unique sport vehicle, a modern version of Lotus Super Seven replica. After those long years I built such a strong relationship with it that I realised I was too afraid to even drive it. So I tested it only several times – in fact all together 300 testing km. I checked whether everything was working the way it should be and then I returned it back to the garage and hid it under the sheet.
I have never driven the car in a rain, I have never driven through puddle or mud, and it has never been outside the garage at night. It has become the most beautiful and extraordinary thing I have managed to build with my own hands.
I will never forget the way I felt when I had my first drive and the passers-by were enthusiastically waving at me. I was surely proud of myself. This sport car – Kaipan has always aroused attention and curiosity in public as it is quite an exotic, brand new vehicle.
This truly unique sport roadster Kaipan is ready and impatiently waiting for its new owner, who would definitely enjoy loads of exceptional moments with it as well as it would represent the owner´s personality with dignity.
I will be very pleased if the new owner is good and careful, able to respect the love I have put in it.
I believe that one dream will help to fulfil my lifetime goal and the currently most crucial thing in my life – the money I receive for the car would help me to pay the airline pilot licence.
The technical description of the car:
The frame is welded from steel sections 20x

20mm (Kaipan manufacturer) It is entirely refined by powder coating paint (komaxit) of a black colour. The rear drive axle is made up of modified Ford Sierra arms (Kaipan manufacturer) the differential

is also used from the Ford Sierra, from which goes a shortened cardan shaft (Kaipan manufacturer), driven by a Ford Sierra five-speed gearbox. Gearbox and differential come from Ford authorized service centre.
They consist of new parts, with new fillings and seals. The front upper and lower arms are provided by the Kaipan manufacturer. Shock absorbers and springs are from HP Sporting Company, producing shock absorbers for sports rally cars and this model, used on the car, is made specifically for Lotus cars. For the Wheels in the front 7.5 x 16 Toyo Proxes T1-R tires 195/40 and in the back 9x 16 Toyo Proxes T1-R tires 225/40.
The car is equipped with a turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine from the Audi TT with the content of 1.8 cm, the power of 180 HP. This type has been totally repassed with new fillings, timing belt, oil, pulleys and all other belts, alternator, remanufactured turbo and completely over sealed. The floor of the interior is from black BMW carpets,
Other upholstery such as seats, sides and a middle cockpit tunnel is black Alcantara. The luxurious abraded synthetic leather used in today's Audi creates beautiful interior of the car. A white thread is used for the stitching. The control elements, such as pedals, gearshift lever and others are from Sparco.
Rear tarpaulin covering the trunk is from a thick canvas, which is used on the roofs of convertibles. The paint of the vehicle is a white nacre used on various Mercedes ML vehicles. Other metal segments visible on the vehicle are made of stainless steel, welded by TIG technology, with grinded ridges. The surface is polished. The dashboard and the upholstery are of a manual production.
