For sale is a beautiful Rolls Royce Silver Shadow with the 4 inch extended wheelbase, giving a voluminous back seat legroom area. I have only had the car for about six months, but in that time period have completed a lot of work. It came with a vinyl roof in reasonable condition, but after stripping it off for replacement found too much rust. the entire brown part of the car was stripped to bare metal. To do this correctly, you have to take out the windshield and rear window and put back in after you are done. All dents, rust, etc, was addressed and repaired. The car was refinished in the original brown metal flake color. The black needed attention on one side and was redone also. The result was gorgeous, and the pictures do not do it justice. When this was finished, we put new rear shocks on ($300.00 each!) and rebuilt the rear suspension rams.(The fuel tank must come out to put on shocks or the rams, so not doing both at the same time is not wise) The ride on these cars is more like floating, even over speed bumps! The hydraulic system works well for the suspension and brakes without leaks. I addressed the inside which was overall very good, but I had to redo the seat cushions on the drivers and front passenger seats, and the back of the drivers seat. . The wood on the doors was taken off and refinished properly and looks like new factory! The car is equipped with Mouton wool carpets front and rear. This is a Rolls option and not normally found on Shadows. They are over an inch thick and make you want to take your shoes off to squish your toes in the rugs!. This car starts every time, and after a little warm up, runs quiet and smooth as a good Rolls should. It has excellent power and runs well on the Interstates. If you have seen this ad before, the power loss turned out to be a pinched fuel line. After the fix, I have been driving it a lot, including going home and back (80 miles round trip) with no issues. I was going to use this in my business, but I now have a black Silver Spur a bit newer which is better for what I do. You will have little to do to make this car first class, and I will be the loser. The brakes are very very good and have nearly new pads. If you do not know how these cars work, There are two pumps on the engine that work at aircraft pressure for the braking and suspension system. Now that the rear rams have been rebuilt, there are no leaks in the system. The air conditioner clutch engages and the system actually works, but needs a charge. But there is Freon in the system, as the high pressure side gets warm and the low pressure side gets cool but not cold. If you know anything about A/C, this is great, meaning the system is not empty as many of these old cars have been for years. The longer I don't sell this car, the more things I fix and make the car more enjoyable. And it is growing on me!
