Our incredibly impressive black and silver Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow Four Door was originally purchased new by a Gentleman and his wife from the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area and they enjoyed the car from 1971 through the time of his death in 1997. The “lady” was then purchased by a Radio Executive and his wife and they brought the car to Indianapolis, Indiana. It was their pleasure to drive the “lady” on special occasions until he and his wife reached the autumn of their lives, at which time we were privileged to become the third owners of this magnificent automobile. This 1971 model was part of the Silver Shadow series that was handcrafted from 1966 through 1976 and having been birthed later in the series had the advantage of the technological and design enhancements and advancements during the earlier years of the production of the series. During the time of the ownership prior to our current caretaking of the “lady” the speedometer malfunctioned and was replaced with a new one. At the time the speedometer failed the mileage was 83, 486. The current reading on the new speedometer is 2, 340. Therefore, the mileage on the car is approximately 85, 826.
Our “lady” is an original car and has been driven sparingly on a regular basis since new. It is believed that she has had one repaint in her life and recently underwent a touch up procedure by a master automobile refinisher, who has painted cars that have won at Pebble Beach and other notable automobile shows. As the “lady’s” current owners we are privileged to have such an artisan in our city.
The original interior is in excellent condition and the Connolly hides show little but appropriate wear. (Please see our pictures which are included) The carpet is well preserved and has been well cared for during our cars entire life. The wood is in excellent condition. Our car is equipped with lamb’s wool mouton rugs, in excellent condition.
Service on our “lady” has been performed regularly and as necessary, parts replaced and/or repaired. She runs well, and is driven regularly, but not to excess.
As the current owners, we sincerely wish our “lady” a new home, in which she can live on with dignity and serve the new owners as well as she has served her prior owners.
