Hello,
Up for grabs is a well taken care of, California Car, 1989 Rolls Royce.
If you are considering buying a Rolls Royce then it is fair to say that you have done your homework and already know most of the inner workings into the car. So moving on.
Background to the car is as follows:
the Rolls-Royce is a 1989 Silver Spur, which I purchased in, I believe October of 2008 on eBay from a private seller in California, Laguna Beach. From online photos and speaking with seller directly and the private repair shop that worked on the vehicle for previous owner. I decided to move forward the purchase based on overall appearance and interior represented, the vehicle was better shape than the majority of vehicles in the market at that time. Once purchase was completed, I had contracted vehicle to be shipped in enclosed container to my home in New Jersey, once received I sent car to be evaluated at Authorized Imported Cars, LLC in Flemington, New Jersey. Whereby, proprietor George Hughes evaluated car and performed maintenance service to better understand how vehicle was cared for. During my ownership to the best of my recollection I have had to replace power steering pump reservoir “plastic tank” as it was cracked in leaking. Additionally I had all doors opened to lubricate window mechanisms and motors. And maybe two years ago I had to rebuild electric shifting box mounted on side of transmission which puts the car into gear via a wiring harness versus linkage, and lastly (2) two brake related distribution fittings underneath the car located approximately in the area of the driver seat as they were leaking leaving green mineral oil on my driveway, since repaired vehicle virtually no leaks evident from where car sits. I will also try to get a printout from the mechanic to verify if any other work was done that am forgetting. Overall car has never left me broken down on the side of road and all major components are working. Including air condition, but I am a small time collector of cars and have had as many as nine different vehicles at once, at this time I am down to three, which is the 1989 Rolls-Royce and a 1966 Lincoln Continental four-door convertible and a 1994 Mercedes SL 320 convertible. Therefore I do not drive the car frequently in fact I had a look to be sure, but I've only put a little more than 2000 miles on the car since I purchased it as I only really take it to weddings, bar mitzvahs, fundraisers/special events, not a everyday car of sort in fact I don't like when I go to events that I have to give the car to a valet.
Personally I think the car is great for its year and will last for many more, but will always have little maintenance issues to attend to.
