Description:

(Relisting this vehicle due to non payment- canceled bid). The VIGGEN has obtained a cult status among the cognoscenti of SAAB enthusiasts. I have owned many SAAB's over the past 30 years and this one has been the best SAAB yet. This is one excellent SAAB in spite of what blemishes or flaws. I recently acquired another vintage SAAB and it is time to part with this wonderful car. I have been the owner since it had approximately 100, 000 on the odometer. Now it has 190, 000 on the clock and will go for another 100, 000 with the proper maintenance and care. This car has been cared for from day one with many typical repairs which include brakes, shocks, clutch, tires, exhaust and many more normal repairs. The rocker panels have been replaced with SE ones they are not from a VIGGEN. To be clear the title has the words rebuilt written on the face of the document. The tires have one season on them and will be good for many more miles. The clutch (slave cylinder, master cylinder, pressure plate, clutch disk) was replaced at about 170, 000 and will most likely outlast the life of the car. I have always kept an extra ignition coil in the trunk since they can go bad at any point without warning. I will include this with the purchase of the car. I have changed the oil every 3, 000 miles or sooner. The brake fluid, coolant, clutch fluid have been changed several times. It has a newer battery as in the past 6 months it has been replaced. It does not leak any fluids such as brake fluid, coolant, oil, transmission oil. It does not burn any oil. It is free of the common sludge problem since the oil pump intake screen has been changed to the more reliable one that eliminates the sludge buildup. It has a few blemishes and scratches that are typical for a vehicle of this age. I have included all of the pictures that were most obvious and the buyer will not have any surprises or unexpected revelations when it is viewed up close. The air blows cold and the heat blows hot as it should. The heated seats work great as well as all of the windows, door locks, hinges, buttons, knobs and switches. The interior is in excellent shape as well as the back seats and front seats. The ceiling header is in great shape and the moon roof closes properly and does not leak at all. The radio works great and there are no blown speakers- it sounds like new and as if you are attending an enclosed sound proof room as it is so quiet inside the car when on the road which allows the stereo to do its job properly. All of the blinkers work as well as the brake lights. The rear window defroster works as well as the heated mirrors. The power mirrors operate as they should as well. Unfortunately, the pixels on the display are not all present. They occasionally reappear with no logical reason so I think that the SID will need to be replaced. This is a common occurrence on this vehicle. The lower display has a similar issue. It has never caused a problem or bothered me in any way and my previous SAAB's also had a similar ailment of this nature. Additionally some other concerns that may be important for the buyer to know is the stamp on the title which indicates it is a rebuilt car. This is not a concern for me nor has it ever been a concern. I bought it that way from the local SAAB dealer and was informed that it had a fender bender and the front bumper needed to be replaced and therefore due to the expensive part, the car was deemed totaled or rebuilt for the insurance claim form and body work that was not extensive nor catastrophic in any shape way or form. It goes down the road straight and stops in a balanced way the way is should. It goes around corners like it is on rails, climbs hills like a billy goat and sticks to the ground like glue. It is really fun to drive and it shifts into all 6 gears (5 forward and 1 reverse). It has been garaged kept its entire life and while I owned it has never been in an accident. The reserve, which WILL NOT BE DISCLOSED, is not unreasonable given the condition of this car. It’s a used car, not an investment in automotive art SO IF YOU ARE REASONABLE, I WILL BE TOO . Please take an opportunity to look at the photos, ask any questions that you might have, and then feel free to press that bid button. I have been on ebay for a long time and have sold a few cars already and the people who have bought my cars were very happy. I try to accurately describe the listed vehicle to the best of my ability, but like you I am human, but assure you that I will not hide any known defects that materially impact the vehicle. I want you to feel “comfy” pressing the bid button! I don’t offer anything that I would not and have not driven myself, but please understand that all vehicles are complex machines and what works perfect right now may not the next time. Just like a new pet from the shelter, its first act as new member of the family might be to “mark its spot”. I’ll be glad to share any additional information that I have about any item listed, in general, but please understand that its up to you to determine if the car listed in this auction is the right one for you. Please don’t assume….it’s a good way to be disappointed…the only ‘stupid’ questions are the ones not asked, and after the auction is over is not the time to determine whether or not y’all want the listed vehicle! Even NEW CARS might need some attention, so if you have any doubts, feel free to make arrangements to have the vehicle inspected knowing full well that some do an excellent job, some are a waste of time and money. Spending every last dime you have on a used car with an expectation that it will give you faithful service with no additional expenses for the next 10 years probably is not a real good idea, so use your head, spend within your means, and leave a little in reserve for a ‘rainy day’. I try very hard to use objective terms in the listings, and where possible, can provide quantitative data on things that can be measured without taking the car apart, so if you have questions on things like tread depth, compression readings, voltages and the like, feel free to ask and if its possible to provide the data I will. However, please keep in mind that terms like Excellent, Mint, Good, etc. are subjective terms that vary from situation to situation, and from individual to individual, so if in doubt please refer to the photos AND feel free to ask detailed questions. Remember that this is a USED CAR!!!!. While I try my best to make sure each unit has been carefully described, you should be aware that they are not in as new condition, except where the addition of new parts has been indicated. There can be undiscovered flaws. Unless otherwise indicated, these cars are being “AS IS”, WITH NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. To make things really clear, if its not as described, I’ll bust my butt to make it right before it goes out the door, but if you blow a hose while doing 90 mph 6, 000 miles down the road and warp the head ‘cause you decide to make it to the next exit 26 miles south and expect me the pick up the tab, please don’t bother to bid…neither one of us will be happy…. To help calibrate what I’m doing, like you, I go searching on e-bay for a decent deal on a car to make sure that what I’m doing is the right thing. I’ve been both thrilled and so angry I could spit nails over the way folks describe what they are offering. I have been working on vehicles ever since I could hold a wrench. However I have decided to bring my cars to a certified mechanic because I do not have the time nor the proper tools or the environment to do large jobs that require a lift. Therefore know that the primary care for this vehicle has been in the care of a qualified mechanic. The car is located in North East Wisconsin. There is an international airport in Appleton where the car is currently. I would be happy to pick you up at the airport and see you drive this wonderful car home. Balance due within 7 business days via either certified funds, cash on local pick up or wire transfer with proper vetting with the financial institutions on both ends of the transaction. Seller can hold for 21 days at no additional charge while buyer makes shipping/travel arrangements. Please bid with the understanding that the winning bidder has entered into a binding contract to buy the car. Due to the large increase in deadbeat auction winners, by bidding, you have agreed that if you fail to complete the transaction except for those unusual events, you will compensate the seller for the full incurred cost of re-listing the item, plus a service fee equal to 15% of the bid, payable upon demand. I will gladly answer any and all questions via e-mail.
