Up for sale is a very beloved car. It's owned by a Saab enthusiast and in excellent condition. Saab makes a truly wonderful car. It handles like a BMW or Mercedes convertible but was originally built in Sweden. These cars have a great fan base and are admired for it's uniqueness and ingenuity. Enthusiast will tell you, if you own a Saab they can be prone to a couple problems but once you address them, you have a car that will easily take you 400k miles without blinking. You've stumbled upon a rare find as these were the last years of the OG body style.
The tires, brakes, suspension, tonneau cover (top), interior leather are in great shape, Saab floor mats. The alignment is perfect. It's only sees premium fuel, which the turbo really likes. No leaks or strange sounds, no dash lights on. Excellent factory Saab alarm system. 21/28 MPG with a cost price new of $44, 000 with all options including spoiler and 17 Viggen wheels. Engine package is a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder, 16 valve DOHC High Output Turbo engine with 205 stock hp and Automatic transmission. It was nearing 80k miles so we had it serviced for it's 80k miles service, then went above and beyond to ensure this car is in perfect order for at least another 100k miles. Here is everything replaced over the last six month. Please note we only purchased manufacture specific parts (OEM). Often times they cost 2-3 times the cost of discount (autozone) parts but there lifespan and build quality are worth it to avoid future service. Everything completed listed below was for parts and installation by a european car specialist in Newport Beach. By no means is everything completed required at 80k miles.
Bosch factory specified battery (5 year warranty) - $200
Crank Position Sensor (Bosch part that can go out and leave you stranded around 80k miles, preventative maintenance) - $280
New Direct Ignition Cassettes with lifetime warranty, previously working OEM DIC boxed and secured in trunk (more expensive preventative). - $360
PCV update #6 with dedicated oil trap (it had an earlier version, #4 I believe. DON'T buy a Saab if this wasn't completed) - $360
Power steering hoses replaced and fluid changed - $180
NGK Laser platinum spark plugs - $65
Valve cover gaskets and belts replaced - $180
Heavy duty engine mounts - $280
AC system check, purge and re-charge, blows super cold. $140
Brake pads and rotors (EBC) and brake fluid purge/replace (80k mile change interval) - $280
Oil changed with Mobile 1 fully synthetic euro blend 0w-40 (only and always) and WIX filter - $80
Engine coolant system drain and re-fill - $160
Air filter replaced - $40
Turbo and vacuum lines/hoses replaced with high grade silicone vacuum line (never need to be replaced again) .-$220
Convertible top serviced with new micro switch installed (with warranty) - $400
New SID display, there were pixels that were missing/burnt out in the old unit. - $160
In-dash cup holder had broken off and had been a pain, so new cup holder - $60
Tinted Windows - $120
New Pioneer speakers throughout (6) including amplified door woofers - $350
Auxiliary input added for Ipohne/ android / Maps directly through stereo and speaker system - $120
HID fog lights - $120
Sylvania HID Ultrastar headlights - $80
Hood and trunk emblem replaced $50
Bosch wiper blades $30
Please take a moment to add this up, it's over $3500 invested to keep this Saab perfect for years to come.
It has front and side impact airbags, ABS braking and TCS traction control system with Sport mode (205hp with excellent MPG). Power everything including heated power seats. It's a very well built car, safety was always a high concern with Saab as their reputation was built on aviation. Smog certified, registration is good until Sept this year. This is a classy little car and is set up to be worry free for another 100k miles with just oil changes Regardless what car you buy, 80k miles is a turning point for a car, most people don't take the care they need so be weary of other vehicles you view in your search for a CONVERTIBLE!
If you'd like to see the car please call to schedule a time, most times work during the day we just lead busy lives too so if you are serious with funds, calling is best. If you have other questions, email is fine. No text please. We are not in a hurry to sell the car, we may just end up keeping it. Defiantly don't need help selling the car if you are a business or something. Just please be respectful of time and only contact if truly interested. The car lives up to the hype. So fun and unique. As far as convertibles go, the Volkswagen bug/beetle and audi a4 cabrio or tt and mini cooper are built horribly and are prone to so many problems. Mercedes and bmw second owner cars (around 100k miles) rarely see the care they need, those cars are lucky to see problems fixed at all, these owners rarely think of preventative maintenance.. You will have service issues even if you buy from a dealer because they will only repair what needs to be done, not what should be done. This Saab is set up for longevity and years of maintenance free enjoyment. Thanks for reading and best wishes.
NO TEXTS PLEASE, NO PHONE NEGOTIATIONS.
Thank you,
Richard
