For sale is a very nice 2001 Saab 9-3 Viggen in overall good condition given its mileage and age. California car located in the Bay area. I'm the 2nd owner.
Car has been serviced regularly, runs well and is still very good looking with some cosmetic and mechanical issues (detailed below). I do regular work out of town so most mileage is from highway miles from a 360-mile roundtrip that I do multiple times per month.
Features
• Special leather interior with Viggen emblem
• Factory stereo with both in dash CD player plus 6-CD changer located in trunk. Display is working perfectly.
• California car with no rust. • Electric sun roof that both slides open and lifts for ventilation. Includes sliding cover to completely block sun.• Power windows.
• Serviced regularly, all oil changes with synthetic oil.
• New battery as of 8/13/2015.
• New tires as of 2/21/2014, 155, 390• Includes Thule roof rack with locking mounts for bicycles (road and mountain bike - I have the keys). Also has mounts for skis.
• Includes original manual and other support literature in original Saab case as shown in photo.
• Heated seats are working.
• Headliner is in beautiful condition.
• I have both original keys.
• Air conditioning blows strong and cold. Heater works.
Vehicle History
I am the 2nd owner of this Viggen. I bought it in San Jose, California in 2005 with 46, 821 miles on it from the original owner. I've had 5 Saabs and this is one of my favorites. This has been my only GM Saab, all others were classics, but I would tie it for first of my favorites with my 1978 Saab 99 Turbo.
I have all maintenance records.
Items to be aware of:
• there is a light crease on rear driver side quarter panel from the car rubbing against a plastic trash can.
• driver side floor mat is due to be replaced (there is a small hole from wear and tear)
• lower front spoiler has pitting/nicks from normal driving on highway. To a less extent the same is on the hood, but overall the body is very clean. One minor ding on the hood near the badge.
• all power windows work with the exception of rear passenger side window goes down but not up from main center control. It does go up from the switch in the rear passenger door.
• driver seat has a small tear in leather as shown. Rear seat has tear on leather as well as shown. Rear is not torn through, just on the surface.
• driver side seat adjustment is currently not working. this problem has been intermittent over the years. Recently it was working again, but when checked today it was not.
• missing driver side jack plate cover
• front driver's side and rear passenger side lower cowling need to be tightened up (they have slight gaps where they are hanging a bit low)
• shift knob is due to be replaced. It works, but the leather is wearing out.
• 'fasten seat belt' warning light needs to be replaced. The original came loose and fell back inside the dash. I have the replacement part it just needs to be replaced.
• both Viggen emblems are showing some wear when examined closely (they look fine from a distance). I have one new replacement emblem that can be installed, but you'll need to get a 2nd if you want those to be perfect.
