I have a beautiful 1978 Saab 99 GLE for sale. I am the 3rd owner of this amazing car. I bought it in Portland, Oregon in 2013 and shipped it here to Ohio when I moved. The body is relatively rust free in great condition. It looks beautiful after a buff job. The color is called Anthracite grey.
It has been driven very lightly through one winter. Ohio winters are rough, so that was a one time thing for this car, however, it handles awesome in the snow.
Since I have become the owner, the car has been upgraded with premium parts, such as the rotors, breaks, exhaust. Under the hood, there are new wires, spark plugs, distributor cap, battery, thermostat and gasket, fuel distributor, harmonic balancer. About a year ago, we replaced the head of the engine with one that came out of a car that had only 500 miles on it. It's unbelievable, but its true. The odometer reads 225, 000. The car is running very nice with a manual transmission on all 4 cylinders.
Like most old cars, there is an oil leak. This has been there since I purchased the car. I check the oil on it every 2 weeks, and it has yet to be low. I also keep the car regularly serviced at Cartel Auto on N. Main st. The guys over there treat this car right! I had them clean the engine to locate the leak. It is between the engine and the transmission. The engine would have to come out for this to be fixed. It can be done for $800.
The interior is in good condition in the front, pretty good in the backseat but the very back needs the fabric replaced.
The driver side seat was recently repadded. There is a nice car stereo with cd. The dash is features temperature controls for winter/summer. Everything is in good working order. The heater works great. There is a manual sunroof and manual windows. The back seats lay completely flat. All windows are intact and functional.
I have the Haynes manual, as well as the original owners manual and most records.
WHAT IT NEEDS: The back window has some seal issues and will drip during a very hard rain. This has caused the fabric near the edge by the window to breakdown. It could totally stand to be replaced.Also, it needs a new tail pipe.
