This is a 1969 Saab model 96. I am selling the vehicle for the 2nd owner. The car was purchased new in San Francisco, California, and later driven to Evanston Illinois. The current owner acquired the Saab about 10 years ago. The mileage on the car, 26, 702 is off by about 400 miles. The odometer failed about 5 years ago and the owner had me send out the gauge for repair to Palo Alta for repair. He believes he may have put on as much as 400 miles while the gauge was not working. The car has been an every day driver and is in excellent driving condition.The Good: A new clutch was installed along with new transmission mounts and trans seals in 2010 The original carburetor ( comes with the car) was replaced with a Weber carb conversion. Rebuilt speedometer/odometer recent brake master cylinder recent fuel pump 2 unmounted snow tires Owners manual in glove box Shop manual + after market specialty repair books Original sales brochure Some spare parts including new rear brakes ( not needed at this time Very original car with great patina
The Bad Paint not so great, but looks good from 15 feet. Left front fender was repainted badly after minor accident Tires are old, plenty of tread and no small cracks in sidewalls but I would replace if serious driving is to be done Clock will only work intermittently. Dashboard padding is cracked The current owner has probably put on 500 to 1000 miles a year over the last 5 years. The car starts instantly every time.
