I am auctioning this 2003 Saturn ION 2 Quad Coupe on behalf of my friend. Before considering bidding on this vehicle please keep in mind you are bidding on a 12 year old parts or project car NOT a car that can be an instant daily driver.
FEATURES: 2.2 L4; automatic transmission; aftermarket remote start; A/C; rear defogger; 60/40 split folding rear seat; AM/FM cassette/CD; rear spoiler and the optional convenience package (cruise control; power trunk release; power mirrors; power locks; and power windows).
EXTERIOR: Overall the exterior is in good condition. Because so many panels are plastic there is limited rust present. The glass and trim are in good condition for the age. The only two major flaws that I can see are hail dents on the metal panels and the paint is peeling on the rear bumper. The vehicle has been sitting under trees for several months so there is a lot of sap and dirt present but that’s nothing a good detail can’t take care of.
INTERIOR: Overall the interior is in fair condition. The carpet is worn and stained. The seats and headliner have stains. The vehicle belonged to a smoker so there is a heavy cigarette smell present. Again a good detail is needed. The good news is, much like the exterior, there are no major flaws. When the vehicle was last driven everything was functioning properly except for the left power window which would occasionally stop working.
TRUNK: The trunk carpet needs to be replaced. The spare tire is present and in good condition.
BRAKES/TIRES: Two tires and the front brakes have been replaced in the past year. Of the remaining two tires one is completely bald and the other is worn but not bald. The rear brakes need immediate attention.
MECHANICAL: The car doesn’t start and I don’t know why. It hasn’t been driven or started for several months. When I went to start it the car was completely dead. I hooked a jumper cable to it and got power to the electrical accessories but not enough to start the car. It just kept clicking. My thought is either the battery needs to be charged (the battery itself was just replaced last year) or the starter has gone out. These are just assumptions though and I am not a mechanic. The good news is prior to sitting for several months the car did run and drive with no known major issues. As you can see there are no visible leaks.
