Brief History
The
Saturn Sky
was a roadster that was produced by Saturn, and was initially released in the first quarter of 2006 as a 2007 model. The Sky concept was shown at the 2005 North American International Auto Show, with the production version following at the 2006 show. It was built at GM's Wilmington, Delaware plant from 2006 to 2009 when GM closed down the Saturn division. The Sky featured 18-inch (457 mm) wheels and a 2.4 L Ecotec LE5 straight-4 engine that produced 177 bhp, On April 11, 2006 a new straight-4 2.0 L turbocharged direct injected engine that produced 260 bhp known as the Red Line was introduced as well as an optional dealer-installed turbo upgrade kit that produced 290 hp. The car came with a standard five-speed manual and an optional automatic transmission was available.
The Red Line had many additions that made it stand out from all other Sky’s that included:
1. Standard torque-sensing limited-slip differential
2. Standard StabiliTrak stability control, and an enhanced sport suspension over the standard Sky (available as a dealer-add on for regular Sky’s).

5. Specific front fascia modeled for the Red Line.
6. Special leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls,
7. Special embroidery on the seats and floor mats,
